Reckon Vanders has shown us in this first half why Goody loves having him in the side.  He might make a few errors, but his toughness around the contest is invaluable.  Smashed Mihocek and got up and walked away like it was nothing.

Spot on. That attack on the ball was great and I'm going to admit while you hate to see players lying on the ground like that, I'm glad it wasn't vanders that got the concussion.

Wow ok so first half has actually been enjoyable to watch. If we lead by this margin at 3/4 time I might actually jump off here and enjoy the last qtr lol

Actually the first half has been equally good to listen to. I have just put on my ACFC tie on (Black tie with the words ACFC underneath the motif of a dead magpie with a trident through its heart). ?

ACFC = Anti-Collingwood Football Club.

Can we check our footwear during the break a few of our guys are slipping over. Looking for a big second half from Petracca and Oliver to take the game away from them completely.

So that first half. Loved our forward work. Outstanding almost every time we went in there.

Things to tidy up. Making a few too many mistakes in our defensive 50. Lever a couple of times and Tomlinson has been sloppy too.

Around sceptre stoppage we're being sucked in to the ball too.much, leaving us vulnerable on the outside. Viney a clear culprit.

And on Viney, he seemed to be playing off the back of the stoppage in the second d half of the second quarter. Interesting. If be doesn't impact the contest and get it going out way, we'll get done from stoppage every time.

Oliver really good in that first half. Petracca needs to tidy up things, but made one or two good decisions late.

Spargo and Kozzie getting to really dangerous areas and Weid, Tom and Preuss competing well to bring the ball to the ground. It's very Richmond.

We also seem to be playing one behind the ball quite a bit, which is really helping us propel Collingwood attacks.

Preuss needs to jump into Grundy a little more. Grundy taking care of him at this stage.

Just keep Oliver in the centre square at every bounce.

Preuss doing well, better than I thought he'd go. Plus his long kicks have been great. Accurate kicking also helps.

Spargo doing well. Just saty down and don't fly for the marks.

Just need to tighten down on pendles, adams and steele.

But I love how after the pies kick a goal we seem to respond.

The umps will relaise they have given us more frees, so no doubt they will try to even it up.

Tommy is getting into the game and Weid has looked good.

Just keep on going melbourne.

What's your interpretation? ? @Satyriconhome

Part-time girlfriend at half-time wants to switch to the Dees. Told her there would be some sort of hazing/initiation ceremony involved. Over to you Uncle Bitters.

What the hell is a part time girlfriend?

The contest is closer than the half time score suggests. The Melbourne would be to come out and think the result will look after itself. Need to get the first couple and push on, best way to to blunt their clearances a touch and control the ball a bit more. Great first halves by Oliver.Langdon and Spargo in particular.  Reset. Go again

Agree with this.

We should have been 20-30 up at quarter time but we weren't 3 goals better than them in the second.

8 frees to 1 collingwoods way that qtr

I think you've got that the wrong way around.

We had at least three that quarter (high on Viney, high on Oliver, and one in a marking contest late).

Plus Collingwood's only had 7 for the match.

I hope Goodwin tells the team to forget the scoreline and continue to take risks and play attacking football.

What we love to do is once we hit a lead, play a game style where we suddenly look to negate instead of trying to score. We hardly kick in the corridor, do switch plays and just play careful footy. We need to ensure we continue playing the same brand for the next half.

Please Dees. Don't go into your shells. Keep playing aggressive footy.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
