The team can't run. It's the difference between a team that can run and a team that can't.

4 day break.

It's only 24 hours less than what Port had, and we were at least in Queensland last week (they were in Adelaide).

Not sure it's that much of a factor?

Is anyone still watching?

Let Pickett take a shot.

Pickett and Jackson look to handball every single time.

OMac the classic or OMac 2.0 (Lever)?

Rebuild may be hard when we gave away our top 3 pick in this draft already, and our so clever recruiter thinks he is smarter than he actually is.

I agree. And yet I'm not entirley sure we have a choice. Tough decisions will need to be made. I'e Brayshaw, Viney, Salem. We're stuck with Lever. Work out how to get Josh Kelly to the club and go cap in hand to the AFL to help us lose Goodwin

It's not necessarily about different methods, but it is about how dependent we are on CPs/clearances.

If we can't dominate in the middle, everything else falls apart.

It's not just contested possessions our gameplan relies on workrate. It has been non existent tonight, the players haven't given a yelp

I have seen a lot of spineless performances by Melbourne over the years but make no mistake this game is up there with the best of them.

Peahearted tackles, no running, zero football IQ, crowding around the ball, 4 flying for a mark.

Goodwin, just pack your and bags and go.

And as for the umpires you can all [censored] off. I'd go as far to say that they're cheating.

I just ate the bottle of wine I finished. Fun in comparison.

mmmmmmeeeeeeee ttoooooo

I'm watching Basic Instinct on Foxtel more thrills in 90 minutes than the last 2 years of watching this club.

Here we come!!

Anyone who is commenting on the umpiring is 100% missing the point. Nothing but a deflection from one of the worst performances we have served up in years.

It's some of the best comedy blooper sport I've seen in years.

Another rare prime time game butchered.

Why can’t both things be unbearable?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
