We won’t have the skill required to win this.

In the post-game last week a couple of the players made mention of what happened last year and that the players hadn't forgotten it.

Y didn't Harmes kick it short to Langdon in the forward 50 rather kick it to a Port 50/50

Back to dominating inside 50s and wasting them.

do we ever get clean entry inside 50?

No.

So we plan on beating them by again struggling with our forward entries. Hopefully it pays off.

So much effort and energy burnt for no result, opposition rush down rick it neatly to their leading forward, goal!

Harmes back in defence ?

May kicks to Max from kick out every time so predicatable they get it and goal.

harmes has gone from a regularly reliable kick to target to bombing it every time

the zone defense is a MESS currently

It looks that way as we are putting zero pressure on when the ball hits the deck in our forward half.

For the zone to work, the pressure needs to be up down the ground.  It's non-existant at present.

It's not looking good.  There's no spark there tonight.  They're going through the motions but the tackles are half-hearted, they're not crashing in to get the ball and disposal is loose.  We won't win this one.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
