CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton

Ultimately there were seven key players who were missing from the side yesterday that, if fit, all need to come on when we play next.

Vanders (grunt and midfield depth), Joel Smith (our third tall defender), Jones (experience and smarts up forward or across midfield), Jackson (pace and height up forward and a decent cutout for Gawny, albeit a green one), Salem (skill and precision from down back), Hannan (a genuine tall small forward who has pace and can mark and can kick long goals) and one of Petty or Weid (the missing third tall marking forward yesterday).

 B- Jetta  May Hore

HB- Hunt Lever Salem

C- Langdon Brayshaw Tomlinson

HF- Petracca TMac Fritta

F- Melksham Weideman Pickett

R- Gawn Oliver Viney

I- Hibberd, Lockhart, Bedford, ANB

E- Sparrow, OMac, Jones, Spargo

Need to inject some pace in the backline......the delisting of Frosty was just stupid.

Jetta left his man too many times to rush up as well, he has to get discipline in to his game because good teams are always going to open you up on big grounds and you have to let things play out as one on one and have the mids cover off.

Jetta is getting out-of-position, as it were, so much and it is because he plays as a team man - providing assistance (as he sees it during a game) to his teammates under pressure. For three years, at least, he has worn his own opponent and then snuck over to assist a struggling OMac - covering his ( OMac's) man too, so frequently, game after game, struggling with high clearance punches at the ball against a KP tall forward as OMac is still bringing up the rear some 15 metres away (ie: OMac cannot keep pace with any opponent). Good onyer, Nev, for trying. You can see the weaknesses, as well as we can. That is perhaps the reason why I have never seen you pass the ball to OMac by foot.

For those who think Weid will be any sort of answer...............Good luck with that.

Beg to differ, play out of position in Marsh. Runs hard and prepared to present. (Iron hands but that will come I think). Much better option than Brown.

I certainly hope it comes Robbie, we certainly need it, but I've seen him not prepared to present. It's his fifth season now when is it going to happen?

Also it's impossible to describe how much we needed Jack Martin. And we had the pick. But instead of selling him on our culture we let him go to Carlton. He kicked 4.1 and was creative going into F50 against the premiers.

Another example of us not being a ruthless club.

We had 4 weeks to convince J Martin to come to the club. And he would've come too if he wanted to continue his career.

I don't buy into the fact that he ONLY wanted to play for Carlton. The year before he ONLY wanted to play for Essendon. I think he wanted out of GC more than wanting to play for Carlton.

He wanted ridiculous money that only Carlton was prepared to pay him

Don't let facts get in the way of a Deelanders opportunity to lay the boots into the club

One of the smartest posts on this site for a long time. Another case of just rolling over and accepting mediocrity.

We missed Jones yesterday.

One of the rare players on this list that can kick a football and make half decent decisions.

Agreed .... and runs to space, uses space once found (nearly always within a 5-metre radius of the pack), and runs on in support of an attacking play by the team to receive/offload support in tight, if needed.

Unfortunately i don't believe Round 2 will be till next year, if we are lucky.

Listening to the PM last night, it was inferred that the current restrictions (and worse) will be around for a long long time.

The Spanish Flu pandemic lasted 2 years from January 1918 to December 1920.

If Spargo plays another game then we really are stuffed..

If we think O MACS one game "Blinder" is promise of things to come?? Think again

If we think Max can ruck all day with a Brown as back up ... Think again

If Hibberd is not finished .. Then Think again

If Nev .. in spite of heroics isn't near the end?? Think again

If selling one of the few with Pace "Sam Frost" was a masterstroke... Think again

If we think Bailey is a Key Forward.. Think again!

If we think Tommy Mac can play..... Think again!

IF IF we think Simon Goodwin is the messiah .. who will lead us out of the Desert????

TAKE A TATTSLOTTO TICKET go the bed and wake up to find???

Sheeit I got 20 Cents under my pillow and I never lost any teeth!

YEAH.... SHORT CHANGED YET AGAIN!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
