Neal-Bullen continues to be a chain killer.  Every period of good clean possession ends when he gets it.

It's either a fumble or a ridiculous attempt at a handball.

He’s doing ok. Hibberd and Vanders look to be battling. I hope they play Hore in the second half. Spargo also AWOL.

However, one big positive have been Langdon and Tomlinson, especially in their roles:

30 disposals and 11 marks between them roaming up the wings.  Absolutely what we've been crying out for.

Disposal is a little shaky at times but, again, that can be forgiven a little due to the time of the year and conditions. Great pick ups for the club.

What happened to vanders says he was subbed off with injury on AFL Site

The AFL website does that all the time.  Says they're injured, then two minutes later they're back on the field.  It's annoying.

more than ever, but he still has no polish and that hurts us as a team.  We are so light on for skilled players.

If we're going to improve we can carry players with sub-par skills.

What in gods name is that free for???

That umpire was stolen by gypsies as a child. The gypsies realised he was no good and left him in the forest for the bears to raise.

The bears rejected him and wouldn't even eat him. He had no proper upbringing and developed neither acceptable social skills nor the ability to interact with decent folk. The AFL saw his potential to be a field umpire where his background and skill set wouldn't be any sort of hindrance.

Here he is tonight making soft decisions leading to a Hawthorn goal. Should we expect anything different ??? Hell no.

Langdon while good, his disposal by foot has been poor. Tomlinson has been good.

Lockhart BOG for me. Has been stiff by these maggots.

The game has been very sloppy though. Play like this against WC and we'll get slaughtered.

Yea I’m not watching the game just reading updates on here and checking AFL Site, so there is nothing wrong with him

Might have been when he clashed with someone in the marking contest just before Viney's goal.

Disposal has been worse than Langdon, both getting to good positions and providing an outlet.

Vanders hurt his foot. Kicked it into someone and saw him grab it straight away.

It’s a pretty ordinary looking game. It’s a good physical hit out but I’m not seeing too much to get excited about in our style yet bar real endeavour.

Tomlinson missing targets but Langdon kicking over his shoulder. Thats [censored]. May trying to drill passes too low and intercepted.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
