Soft! Over 400km for me to the G and back. I don't miss a match! (on the TV)  I still pay my membership donation every year.

Soft, indeed! I drive from Adelaide (from the southern coast 40 kms southwest of the city) to Melbourne for many games during the season, a round-trip of about 22 hours, at least, with the handbrake providing particular instructions on the route, the speed, the distances to go, the meal breaks, the traffic flow and the price of fuel - every five minutes for the entire journey. . How's that for being an avid Dees fan?

Definite signs of insanity. Must be a long trip home some weeks!

Obviously doesn't come on DL

Sounds like a disappointing effort from Hunt.

Must say I have never seen him play well at VFL level. Always thought it was the lack of pace in the game gave him no room.

He's  quick. That's about it.

It's either half back or bust for me.

I don't rate him Dazzle, poor disposal, poor decision maker and whilst he has speed he makes decisions the same way., without considering all options

IMO he's depth

Yep, agree with what you just said. He's lost his mojo and needs to get it back asap.

Last time we played a VFL side against the Bombers was round 2 in 2013 and we got spanked by 148 points.

We’re improving.

Thanks for that. I just rescued the season's ticket as it was starting to melt.

Thats what happens when you read the headline without reading the story.

Any Essendrug  Teeth ? left in the Turf

What was the point of that game if they turn up with 2 sides?

Yes it is a Hit out, but playing young fatigued players against a fresh side after Half Time is a risky card to play.

i Hate Essendrug

(First time i have written that n 2020)

It's a good question. The conclusion I have come to is that Burgess or Goodwin wanted every uninjured player on the list to have some real match play this weekend so they are all doing same type and level of work.

Can be the only answer i agree.

Thanks (not) for that reminder Steve. I was there that day and had finally ( through alcohol therapy) repressed the memory.

I presume the squad for this game will be released tonight?

Isn’t it the Collingwood  team that gets day release to allow them to play?

Wasn’t that the year that the Bummers were on “the good stuff” from Dank?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
