Does stay there hidden under the seats or can it be dismantled and assembled elsewhere?

I'd love them to use one of the asphalt velodromes around a country footy oval. The one at Wangaratta would be perfect. Something tells me that won't be happening.

Not so sure about the velodrome track length vs the dimensions of a decent sized Aussie Rules oval.

I think there are more marginal electorates in Geelong. Watch out for a further Kardinia Park stadium and associated facilities upgrade.

Wanted so much to click the "vomit" button for this post but that would have been unfair to LDVC.

Clicked like, but i really didnt.

Do we know if all the events are in country Victoria? Could we have been waiting for this announcement hence the silence from the Club regarding any future home base. Are the ducks lining up at long last. If so Kate Roffey needs a sainthood.🦆

I think I've got a little bit over excited. The Games aren't until 2026 but still what's another 4 years.

Knowing our luck we'll get a nice, new home base in Warrnambool.

I Ike it here !

and I could give training reports. And we have snakes.

potential for back-to back-to back-to back-back?

Disappointed there was no update at the Member's Brief last night unless it was during one of the spots where the live feed dropped out.

Missed it last night due to footy training but disappointed that there was no discussion around if true.

I need to find a link, but I was certain it was either Pert or Roffey last year said they would have an announcement by the end of the year with confirmation of our new home base.

We're nearly 3 months into the new year and we've heard nothing.

The club will put a link on their website today.

Nearly 3 months into the new year? On 17 February? You don't ghost write Mick Warner's articles by any chance? 🙂

Heard the same message for the past 5 years and we'll hear the same for the next 5 years

"As much as we would love to give an update, there's no information to give at this time. It's a complex process with numerous parties. "

"We are in constant discussions with the State Government, Melbourne & Olympic Parks Trust and the AFL."

"We've seen the preliminary plans and we believe the facility that we are putting together will be a world class state of the art training facility with a Social Club so our fans can come together and sing the song after a win only a drop punt from the MCG located in the heart of what we believe to be the best sporting precinct in the world"

"I can understand the members and supporters are probably getting a little frustrated at the lack of an announcement but as soon as we have the sign off from all parties to give the go ahead we'll gladly update you all."

Serious question: Is that actually what was said or have you crafted what you imagined might have been said? Because, if it's the latter, it's very fine trolling!

Nope that was all in my head. I've heard it enough times to know it off by heart! :)

Does it matter, we just won a flag with the boys having a kick to kick, and having a beer afterwards, don’t change a winning formulae.

Yes, it does matter.

The rest of the competition will improve this year as we must.  If we expect players to improve the rest of the club and the resources around them need to improve.

And we owe it to the new players coming through, that may not be as elite as our current top 10, to ensure they can be the best they can be.  Facilities will play a role in reaching their potential.

dude… you’ve got to update your profile name! Its a new world.

Is the re-surfacing anything to do with the new training base or just a separate thing? Either way it will be better for our players feet.

Separate thing, it is also not just a resurface, the oval has been expanded to now make it as long as the G and as wide as Etihad.

The home base is still to be decided/approved/announced/whatever but it is assumed it will be an addition to AAMI park.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
