Saw Richmond training at Waverley park or what is extremely of the same look. Werenโ€™t we maybe looking there for training?

To me it sounds more like our VP was very naive on the intricacies of finding a new home.

Or took some carefully crafted statements from government as a rolled gold commitment to the project only to find it was anything but?

I wonder how the hawks are feeling having just moved into their 2nd home since 2000, itโ€™s laughable Guerra was smirking when asked a question at draft wrap up, like an announcement was coming soonโ€ฆ yeah heโ€™s not responsible of whatโ€™s occurred re our training base but just sounds another rinse & repeat of failures setbacks etc etc

The overconfidence from the club on this matter is what worries me the most. Seems like we didn't really know what we were talking about.

Yes itโ€™s frustrating but this is an absurd take and whatโ€™s playing out.

For when something is actually announced ๐Ÿคฃ

As someone who works in government, and in an area that liases with multiple Ministerโ€™s offices, I can confirm that the timing of any public announcement of a government funded project is dictated entirely by the relevant Minister and the government at large

I think Green has likely gotten ahead of himself and was not familiar with how these processes work, hence the indication that an announcement was close when in actuality an announcement is entirely out of our hands

Having said that, the lack of announcement at the AGM doesnโ€™t mean the work isnโ€™t being done and that weโ€™re not actually close to securing funding or approval for the project - we may just be waiting for government to commit and announcement a communication timeline/strategy

This is spot on. The machinery of government is at best described as a cesspit, a gathering of folk who are driven by their own egotistical motivations often suffering with moral decay.

Unfortunately our hands are clearly tied with Caulfield and that is to be expected when we dont have much capital to throw around.

One thing I can tell you, if Caulfield goes ahead track watchers will need industrial strength fly repellent.

Not helped by the heaps of grass cuttings and fresh compost on the track.

Absurd? The club all but promised an update at the AGM only to hose it down when it came time to deliver. So it all amounted to a bunch of hot air.

I will happily apply liberally if we get to caulfield.

Aerogard a possible sponsor?

Ivermectin is recommended by all types of wackos and cooked units.

I was quite surprised at the lack of scrutiny at the AGM about this. It must be two years or so now that an announcement has been imminent. We've the board who cried wolf.

I know people want to keep things positive, but our last formal update was september 24. Paid up members are in the dark and its just not good enough.

Im positive we have missed many opportunities, ignored many options and remain ignorant of relationships. I was also disappointed at the AGM announcement. It has been reported that our VP has recognised shortcomings.

I am also positive that our team including demonland trackwatchers are focused on another season at Goschs and Casey where we have facilities which can produce a premiership. Our administrators and support staff will have to work harder and smarter.

There is always a lot of talk about how capable our board is...very little to show however.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFLโ€™s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.ย
