Imagine BBO, old dee and daisycutter doing their version of that clip...

Actually, scrap that thought

My Eagles supporting mates are hoping like hell that he returns to full fitness and kills it at Melbourne.

These guys have got to be given a licence to let their hair down FFS.

The thing that surprises me though, if you are pro footballer, on 200-600k per year, surely you can afford something better than dominos pizza and the worst drink on earth.

Ha yes that would be my only negative on that also. Cats [censored] is what that is.

This is the sort of stuff my teenage daughter does with her mates on TikTok. Young men make choreographed dance video in 2019 after a few cans - quick, get the gallows ready!

Hold up, your daughter is a teenager?

This is legit why Tommy Bugg retired from footy to start up his own instagram influence agency..

Apparently making a killing too...

That's one example though. And I would say that's an example of how strong the culture of the Richmond FC is already.

How would you rate the Fremantle football club though? Why do you think Lachie Neale was so desperate to get out and go to Brisbane? I have a family member that works in the media in WA and the culture at Freo became a mess under Lyon. Too many bad characters.

I reckon it'd be worth asking Freo fans if they think it was worth it.

As good a coach Ross Lyon is, I would suggest that his own personal conduct at club events, as reported in the media, would have made it very difficult for him to pull players up on their own conduct. One thing I'm proud of with the MFC has been the conduct of our club leadership and respect we have treat players, coaches and administration staff over the past decade and I think it puts us in a good position to bring 2-3 talented d!ckheads.

That's very true. I think I was in year 10.

Fast forward 394 years later, and we are still no good.

No different from celebrity endorsements of any products, ever. The advertising industry's been working for a while now.

That said, as usual, mate, I presume you're joking.

Bout time we grew some Nads and took a chance. Hopefully we can have a Win here!

You have to take the low risk high reward with him for sure. Hasn't played consistent football for a long time.

But gee we haven't have a player with such balance, poise and skill for a longtime. I don't imagine we will get 2015 Harley but even two thirds of that player would be so useful to this team

He and Marlion Pickets games are so similar. Both have that confidence when running with the long strides and balance with ball in hand, they don't go to ground. Interesting they both same/similar age.

How about this video instead. It shows a fella who has something that is very hard to fake or learn - a natural instinct for kicking goals.

He. knows. Where. The. Goals. Are.

Love his left foot snap in the wet against Port.

Perfect kicking technique too.

And strong overhead.

Play him at half forward flank and he will be a very tough match up. And his fitness won't be too exposed.

His AFl stats are very underwhelming, Binman. He sounds like a player who'll play a brilliant game and have many so so days.

His stats look great to me - don't see many quiet patches at all whilst fit:

https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/H/Harley_Bennell.html

Especially being a young player in struggling start-up team with a 24.7% winning rate.

I think it's more who he is dating which is the reason for its success.

Fair play to him.

Hard to put any sense to this really......

Amazing to think that recruiting players with good character was a priority a few years ago & now that pre-requisite has been all but been thrown out the door......Sam Murray as well, give me a break. Need for speed....they got that right.

So when the recruiting officers sit down at the dining tables with potential draftees & the discussion comes up about character, responsibilities as an AFL footballer in society & the no [censored] policy.....how do the parents & player respond?

Becoming a real 'boys club' Melbourne & this will no doubt end in tears.....again.

Talent always beats the DH policy. In any club. If you are a Buddy type you can get caught with a dead hooker in the boot of the car and the club will try to cover it up, but if you are # 36 on a list and smoke a joint then out you go.

If Murray joins us and sneezes the wrong way he will be booted. If Bennell joins us and shows he can play then he will be allowed to sneeze many times before we boot him. If Gawn or Clarry were found with dead hookers we'd hire lawyers for them.

The way it is, always has been, and always will be, right or wrong.

While I respect Goody's No D.......s policy I believe the push for trials for  Harley  and Murray potentially are exactly the self checking and discipline  defining acts that might also assist our Club to grow from slight immaturity to much stronger organisation.

This stance in effect could be the one if the reasons our football and attitudes have to stand up big time for us to become a real team to challenge in the toughest of environments AFL.

it could go one way or the other but we will never know without giving it a go.!

And the upside is that we need the skills both  these talented players possess for our team to progress and prosper.

Strap in for an exciting ride.

Yeah agree & hence my 'boys club' tag.....lets face it too, the coach has history too so these guys will fit in beautifully.

Roosey must be shaking his head in disbelief.

Anyway, good luck to these guys & hope they prove everyone, including me, wrong!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
