A potential mock could be

22 Port - Trent Bianco

23 Lions - Josh Worrell

24 Crows Deven Robertson
25 Crows Will Gould

26 Cats  Trent Rivers

27 Swans Elijah Taylor

28 kangas Jay Rantall

29 kangas Hugo Ralphsmith

30 Dees Jeremy Sharp

That’s what the phantom drafts would lead us to believe but in reality it will look nothing like that.

Agree. It’s just showing that plenty of good options in next 9-10 players available.

I rate Jeremy Sharp highly with pace, run and skills.  Good size at 187cms 78 kgs and experience at senior WAFL level.

Harrison Jones could also be a good option as a young key forward.

I would love Robertson but he will be gone. Sharp would be a great get at 28.

Wonder if clubs think Gould won't be able to keep the weight off and won't have the running capacity for AFL?

He looks like a natural leader and a natural footballer.

Hope we take the punt and get Clarry to teach him a thing or two. Both were similarly built at the time of their respective drafts.

Robertson was a heavy 16 year old before he knuckled down

Hey @Pennant St Dee, what are your thoughts on both Sharp and Rivers?  Both seem like great prospects and fill a need nicely for us in my opinion. Sharp I've heard is great outside runner with neat skills, Rivers gets good wraps as a solid all-rounder but mainly in defence. I could see him fitting in as a long-term replacement for Hibberd or Nev. Do you have a favourite or any other insights into these guys?

I'm a Rivers fan, just seems so solid and I think our backline needs versatile that all round quality type who can play any of about 5 roles back there. I'm also interested in the idea of taking Williams and making him play half back to light a fire under him, very Sicily/Hardwick at Hawthorn like.

Otherwise if they want to go Taylor that's fine by me. Same with Sharp, Gould, Bianco, although those 3 are kind of positives and negatives with attributes, less versatile.

The only one who I haven't seen but I'm just fascinated by is the idea of Perez. A junior soccer star with elite kicking skills. Have you seen much of him J?

Sorry mate, haven't seen him play. Had read that Richmond have some interest and possibly will be a value pick up for someone due to his injury, but I don't have much of a reference point unforts.

Come on demenlanders give us a scenario to move up to our pick to brissys pick , apparently port dont want Robertson

Exchange 28 and future 3rd  rounder  for 23 and future 4th rounder.

Reportedly poor attitude and doesn’t follow coaches orders/team gameplan. Would be drafted much higher if he did as he’s clearly more capable than most. I wouldn’t be disappointed at drafting him at 30!

I’d love Robertson, but doubt he’ll slide to us.

Would love one of Rivers or Bianco. Rivers is solid all round in defence. Bianco is a leader, finds a lot of ball, has good kicking skills and could become a smallish defender or midfielder.

Would be happy if the Demons took at least one of the following...

1) Deven Robertson

2) Josh Worrell

3) Jeremy Sharp

4) Trent Bianco

5) Will Gould

6) Hugo Ralphsmith

7) Dylan Williams

8 ) Jay Rantall

9) Elijah Taylor

10) Trent Rivers

11) Mitch O'Neill

12) Jake Riccardi

13) Josh Honey

14) Harry Schoenberg

15) Brock Smith

I like the inclusion of Brock Smith.  I saw two power games this year and he looked a solid smart defender. Strong build, composed and can deliver the footy. I know there is about 8-9 really good other youngsters but Smith would be a good call out as well. A local boy

As long as we don’t do anything outrageous, we are in a very good spot. Could tick off a bunch of needs in one draft. One of Rivers, Gould, Sharp, Taylor, Bianco or Williams would make me very happy.

And not an unrealistic chance that we’ll get to choose one either.

@ChaserJ have you seen much/any of Cam Taheny. Sounds like an option aswell.

Do that and you could have Robertson and that would shut a lot of criticism down. Only one club to pass on him then needed.

Or wait until Port make their pick then get on the phone to the Lions. Unless they want him.

That is what I meant. Set the deal up now if possible and do it if Port take another player.

Yes.

This would be a great outcome. It would also mean we pick up 2 WA boys, which will be good long term. Robertson would be the icing on the cake but Jeremy Sharp would be pretty good to. At least Taylor still has options,  including his name sake, Elijah.

I read somewhere last night the Lions were very keen on him.

Lets take teh player who has the best skills by foot. Simple.

As they would be. He should have gone first round. What a steal!

Robertson and Bianco unlikely to be available.

Would be happy with one of Sharp, Taheny, Rantall, Cassar, or Dylan Williams.
Rantall and Williams are probably my faves.

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
