Apologies, but I was nervous about giving too much info and ruining the trust of my source. So, you can rule in ANYONE mentioned in this thread, wether they have been ruled out by me or others or not.

Last post on this, I will leave you all to muse on it until I am allowed more, or the players name actually comes out.

Dissecting  all this information like

Thats clearly @Ethan Tremblay about to break the news about our next big trade.

Heard a rumor about DeGoey today , that Collingwood have massive salary cap issues, and could offload him to a club that has made a big play for him.

Can’t be us, he wasn’t on my list ?

De Go or Not De Go. That is the question? (Tyre kicking)

A tyre-kicker is someone who asks you for information but has no intention of buying. Their intention is to get information from you -- so unfortunately the more you give them, the more they will hang around. It's kind of the same as seagulls when you have hot chips.

- How does this relate to De Goey?

Yoko's info is that it's somebody not from the Pies.

He (she?) could of course be talking about another prospect altogether and De Goey has now bobbed up at this late stage.

@Yokozuna - care to put it in a riddle format? ie: "The guy that spreads both butter  and his wings, yet remains ocean-bound"

Hot chips and hot pies go well together.

Thanks for the info DZ. Seems odd to me though, if that was the case why wouldn’t they let Elliott go? Eddie’s ego got in the way?

I think it’s North making the mother of all offers to him, 7 years and massive dollars.

I would hope we are at least sniffing about, he is a bona fide superstar/match winner and we are bereft of them

Im kind of curious, what are the Collingwood fans opinions of his training, effort levels, does he do rehab properly? Genuine matchwinner, but who knows if he's going to spend the next 5 years as a Jamie Elliott prior to this year. Battling soft tissue injuries

Knowing us and the elite talent we attract im still pretty sure it's Casboult, Zac Clarke or James Stewart

He’d probably win more matches for us on one leg than we managed this year

The fact that you have posted this Chook makes me pretty excited.

I mean, you haven't said anything in particular, but intriguing.

Interesting to see if we have identified a key forward.

It seems no one has identified the identified key forward as yet on this thread...

Yoko was having a bit of a laugh, ay?

Yep.

We've all taken the bait once again after the GNF debacle couple years ago.

The GNF debacle, lol. It's all a bit of fun. Much better when we think we're involved in interesting potential trades. :D

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.
