Examples please of 2018 changes he predicted.

Will attempt a search, might take a while though.

I'm still hoping to hear O'Brien named.  He's another very good runner, can take a mark and has kicked a bag against us.  The Hawks are looking to shed some players to make room for another big play, so that could fit.

Edit: Not trying to disparage O'Brien. Just that other clubs are making plays on big key forwards, even a year out, and we're looking to feed on all of their off cuts. Bloody hope Tmac & Weid step up this year.

Is that suppose to be art? Anything can be art these days, have you seen those people that go around New York putting sprinkles onto dog faeces? Apparently it’s art as well.

After all, you can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in sprinkles!

I would like it to be membrey or Bruce, as I know they always beat us, but it isn’t.

As I said, you will be surprised!!

Those two have regularly contributed to MFC losses, so would they continue to do so?

Or Harry McKay. Surely with McGovern, Martin Papley and Betts they can't fit then all in

Edit: just read some old posts and see he's been ruled out

I thought another reply had come through, but my phone has been playing up! Sorry.

we are still into the player I previously spoke about (and his name has been mentioned on this topic, I just didn’t want to confirm it).

However, we are also into some others as we are keen for a tall, marking, goal kicking forward. I wasn’t given any other specific names, but judging by everything, I wouldn’t be surprised if it is players such as Jenkins and Brice that we are speaking too, along with the other unnamed player.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we brought in a tall forward and a crumbed, along with Tomlinson and Langdon!

Do you know why it's taking so long?

I can only assume it is because the main target is someone under contract who they are trying to pry from his current club, and then the others are secondary options.

And, all trades are drawn out unfortunately, even most of the ones where teams have been nominated, so I guess we can understand why the more secretive ones may take longer.

Surely if we are targeting a Cat it is more likely to be Ratugolea.

Young. We could offer a good contract with a few years on it. A big presence up forward but crucially can go into the ruck. A tacit admission the Preuss experiment has failed (and maybe acknowledgment that weeds is fair way off?)?

Hawkins is too one dimensional and doesn't provide any chop out for Maxy.

Darcy Fogarty (he’s not at a Vic club so it’s not him) or Ratugolea would be the two i’d be keen to target and would suit our list profile.

I agree with everything you've said, we share the same view 100%.

However, based on the description provided, not sure Ratugolea qualifies, unlike Hawkins.

Yokozuna did specify he/she was excited by the prospect. Is that enough to rule out Hawkins?

I don't think the clues rule the big fella out. Could our pick 3 come into play somehow? The cats did mention they would be keen to get up the draft order.

If we got the big rat and their first round pick (14?) and maybe a 3rd  rounder (which we could use for Butler) that might work?

This game is fun.

Really? Preuss was recruited as a back up for Gawn, with the understanding he'd learn from the best in the game and maybe take over from him in a few years. Perhaps get a few games with or without Gawn in the mean time. Not sure i'd call that a failure 12 mths down the track

St Kilda are going to have to unload some players if they want to get all the new blokes they're supposedly after.

Has anyone mentioned Paddy McCartin as a possibility to us ...and would we want him with his concussion issues?

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
