I thought it was a black tie event so why does Danger think he can rock up in a red velvet jacket?

Because it's Mr can do no wrong, and also can do what he wants.

Wow, they actually have a round or two between all the ads and ridiculous mundane “interviews”

Taking phone 'n copy of Grapes of Rath up to the throne - someone mind posting when it gets to the round when we came good please?........?

Just to cheer up all those deespondent folks about the Club's immediate future or previous decades in the football wilderness.

We are ranked second bottom career (cumulative) Brownlow votes of the original twelve clubs making up the Victorian Football League pre-AFL. Eagles are closing fast must be all those hometown votes from umpire Margents ?.

Career Brownlow votes by club
5570 GEEL
5503 COLL
5462 CARL
5418 HAW
5416 ESS
5291 STH/SYD
5065 NTH
5059 WBD
5055 RICH
5050 STK
4719 MELB
3427 FITZ

Considering that Fitzroy haven’t been in the comp since 1998 we are in reality stone motherless last. Add Brisbane’s votes to their tally it will be no contest for last.

Bogan!

Yeah, nah...it’s not bogan.

It’s an attempt to be “quirky”. Blokes a massive nerd yet tries ridiculously hard to come off as a “crazy lad”.

Gosh when did Tiernan Stynes suddenly grow up and get so tall?

 ?

Max would have polled more if we won more.  Umpires are generally biased towards winning teams, also players who get it a lot irrespective of their actual effective or damaging they are in the game.  Sad really.

Wow maxy got the 3 on Queens Birthday. Go Max.

Deservedly, gave the nominal All- Australian ruckman a proverbial bath.

I know that defenders don't win Brownlow's but given that Rich won 16 games and Dylan Grimes was one of the few that played nearly every game he would have to poll well.  And, not many stars to take votes from him so he would have to be roughy to be on the podium; maybe do a Gus Brayshaw as the Tigers haven't included him to go tonight!

Hahaha, yeah ok Luci, go to the naughty corner...... you know defenders dont get a mention on Brownlow night.

Everyone with an interest in AFL knows this is a midfielders award.

I think I have to turn it off. Dangerfield is annoying the [censored] out of me and he isn't even doing anything.

Gee hasn't brayshaw's brownlow count changed  a lot in a year?

Sadly yes.  Sums up our year.

So Max has 14 votes so far....how many did he get last year?

Well according to Spike Milligan's guide for good eating " baby-faced angry bluebottle with chopstick in hand is not necessarily barrel of laughs" ?

For those who missed it, Melbourne took out Mark of the Year for the second consecutive year....well...being on the recieving end of it anyway.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
