Yes that makes sense. Had to laugh when sorry kids said goodbye a couple of weeks back.

Have them both on ignore.ย

I wish postersย would stop quoting them

Well, this pretty much assures Jack he will be a one clubย player.

Can you quote the rumour?ย

This is all I could find, it was on the Richmond board, make of it what you will:ย

โ€œJack Viney has today informed melbourne football club he wants to be traded to richmond

Neil Balme questioned about jack viney said the Richmond football club knows nothing about it and to talk to our AFLW team managerโ€

Few rumours doing the rounds that the Dees are actively shopping Viney around, with several clubs interested (including Carlton)

ย

Incidentally, his Father, Todd, is leaving his post at the MFC, so that is adding fuel to the fire.

ย

Personally I think Essendon could use a big bodied inside player like him,ย  not sure how they can a deal done though, unless they trade Joe Daniher.

Im not saying I believe it either way - but still is discussion worthy

Jack will be the first to admit it hasn't been his best season. He had half a game at Casey in their last practise match and then came into the team for game one against the Power, as did Jones. Not the ideal prep for a season and that foot injury has to be managed and will never be 100%. He has a role to play in the team and most times does it to the best of his ability.

I wouldn't trade him but wish he would learn to use his right foot instead of always turning on his left and to occasionally not get drawn to the contest and cover the outside. He has been told to toe it down as he is so footy focused he can be annoying to the other players. he has on occasions admitted that he needs to backoff onfield and on the track when communicating to his team mates. Nothing that cannot be fixed and let him develop.

About his foot never being 100% again, is that a published fact or your opinion? (Genuine question).

He used his right foot more this year than previously, so it woould seem he is conscious of the problem of being a one-sided player, but I agree he certainly needs to improve that part of his game.ย

His foot injury is not my opinion but direct from a former team mate who left, retired and now coaches a VFL side.

On the trade market he is an early third round pick, he is worth more to us than a third round pick

Only ex-dee who coaches a VFL side is Jared Rivers, and he moved to the cats the same year we draft Viney, so they never played together? Plus he would be long gone from the club prior to the injury so could be a very doubtful source.ย

You are correct that Jared Rivers coaches a VFL side and is a life member at MFC and still very close to most of the MFC players. Say no more

Might as well give this a bump while the 'Trade Fritsch' thread is still floating around.ย

Of course Olisik won't be back until we lose a game, but that shouldn't stop others in the 'let Jack goย to Geelong' campย from offering their own Mea Culpa.

For those of you who don't speak French, thatย means owning up to your mistake!ย

Not only is the list not poor, it can look and be improved very quickly, by the addition of a Langdon, Tomlinson and maybe another experienced player, together with an injury free run at it, from May, Tom Mac, Melksham, Weid, KK, AVB, J.Smith, Hannan, Jetta etc and the development of Sparrow, Jordon, Nietsche, Bedford, Chandler and any new draftees, together with the moving on of a few more NQR's.

Spot on Mr Leg

For those who donโ€™t speak Latin...

Which is most of us.

It was really a 'Trade excess inside midfielder we're plodding on a wing, for an actual winger" thread, that JV/Brayshaw are caught up in. The club is playing JV in the midfield and he's thriving, which is a No brainer outcome. The jury is still out on that wing position as the season progresses.

Latin? but nonetheless :)

Personally Viney is clearly fabric of the club - and flawed.

But seemingly less flawed thus far this year

If Jack wanted to leave, then that's his choice, if the FD pushed it because of a need to either get him out, or get out his flaws to capitalise on someone where the attributes would be more useful, than that is fine too.

But jeez, you know what you are going to get and not get with Jack... 'it does what it says on the tin'

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
