GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Sydney

I said we have average footballers in our team after last weeks game.

I'd take average footballers right about now.

Bereft of skill and confidence. Swans are gonna breeze this in.

Has Tracc been on much or at all this quarter?

Little to no impact, we should also start looking for a replacement for Hibberd. Will be painful if Jones goes another season, and he will.

Another wicket UK out 2 for 60

Meanwhile it's been a snoozefest at the footy. Watch Sydney score a quick 2 goals after this pathetic arm wrestle

The most worrying thing for me is not that we keep losing, but that we don’t look even remotely like we are building anything for next year.

Anb....strech and Spargo pla ying  when they should be the first 3 out the door. Its a worry.

It’s been exactly the same since the PF last year. That is what concerns me

I honestly can't see where our improvement can possibly come from next year with this bunch.

New coach?

Our f50 entries are just excruciating

Do we even want to give ourselves a chance of kicking a goal?

Because we accept players “did some nice things” as opposed to “tore the game apart” or “changed the course of the game”.

We give the opposition every chance .

A true bottom of the ladder side.

I was asking as i thought he was easily our best in the first part of the first quarter BA.

Absolute horrendous game of footy.

Jones can [censored] off, [censored] terrible leader.

And that sums it up, but by all means blame the coach

This is simply disgusting.  The panic, keystone cops fighting over the same ball.  I cannot believe how poor this team is, in all aspects and phases.  What a bunch of losers

1/ There will be no expectation.

2/ It couldn’t be as bad again, surely.

3/ No excuses accepted re delayed preseason.

4/ Confidence could not be any lower.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
