Petty

I’m not sure Petty was in the top 6 but I do like his trajectory and has potential either forward or back

Maybe not, but most players listed in peoples top 6 don't deserve to be there.

Oliver needs to distribute while taking a hit (not panic handball)

Frost needs to think before acting sometimes

Salem needs to be mote physical

Hibberd gets out the back

All our midfielders get beaten on the spread, rebound and for speed

Our forwards chase (sometimes) but rarely apply pressure

Lever was also good might swap him in

Hunt???!! For what

Maybe for the extra 6 possessions he got from James Brayshaw not apparently knowing the difference between Hunt and Harmes. And he mixed up another, as well. Was it O Mac for Frost (or vice versa)?

My votes:

6. Gawn

5. Fritsch

4. Oliver

3. Hibberd

2. Frost

Couldn't agree more re most of the points above. Oliver seems to be releasing too quickly, as if to avoid body contact, and impacts our ability to clear the ball.

Lewis would have to be in our best 6. I'm also a bit surprised that Petracca doesn't rate a mention. To me he's one who applies pressure, distributes well when played in the midfield and tries to create for us. He would get alot more reward if our forward system was able to keep the ball in and in the second half we were able to get it in the forward line to begin with.

Brayshaw in top 5!.  I think he has dropped off this year. Great to see him overcome his concussion issues but he needs to bring the 2018 form back.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
