To provide context, The blokes been injured, is that fair and reasonable? The FD clearly rate his flexibility and a prepared to back him for a run of games, rather than drop after 2.

To provide context, the bloke has been [censored] for 3 weeks & if he's been injured & is struggling to even take a chest make, then have some balls & bring in the inform players who can impact a game. Unfortunately some other players aren't afforded the luxury that Hannan has been given.

I would have thought Goodwin & the FD would have learnt by round 15.

After his in and under game last week Lewis may be part of the rotations,. I think final I/C will be Hore, Hibberd, Petty and 1 of Lewis/ANB

Rotations through middle Viney, Oliver, Gus  Trac, Jones and Harmes + 1 of Nibbler/Lewis

Usually when we are up and running we rotate up to 12 through the midfield in a game.

Last season every now and then we would put Hogan at a center bounce a few times a game. I liked that tactic as it made for a mismatch and took opposition out of their comfort zone. With the coverage we look to have down back on Sunday I would like to see us play a bit of Frostball at  few center bounces. That might be fun to see. Might be effective s well.

So is the Braydon Preuss selection window dressing or just so far left field its not possible,   no one thinks its possible

at least a different forward make up ...   couple of goals  each game he has played.    Go Dees !!

Having Preuss play against Martin could be good for his development, but going off previous weeks, I doubt it will happen.  When they didn't pick Preuss to go against mummy for the GWS game, I thought this guy isn't going to get a game for the rest of the year, unless Max gets injured.  If I remember correctly, Martin is beast like strong, but also has a pretty decient tank.  What could have been if Max and Martin had have got together ...although one of them would probably just have become the most dominant ruckman in the VFL, hence we are where we are.

I actually don't see the selection of Oscar on the bench as that unreasonable:

a) If we lost a key back prior to the game through flu or something, he is about the only legitimate option you could bring in;

b) I have hopes for Petty, but he isn't exactly setting the world on fire just yet and it's almost like he is the guy getting games for his development and future potential in much the same way as Oscar previously;

c) We saw how much better Frosty played last week in a winning side and being relieved of the No.1 defense position - I think similar would apply to Oscar;

d) Oscar is way better than your average VFL backman.

The number of emergencies was expanded to four his year because clubs argued that they needed to have emergencies to cover each of on-ballers, forward, defence and ruck. Preuss may just be the nominated "fourth emergency" just in case Max gets sick.

As to Lewis's position, I would have thought if he were to come in it would be at the expense of Hannan. Having now watched the replay I would be extremely surprised if he took ANB's spot.

I'm an Oscar McDonald fan, but this naming of players without adequate form or match fitness behind them has got to stop.

It has cost us multiple games already this year and is sending a horrible message to players who are working hard at Casey but are having players leapfrog them into the senior team seemingly on a whim.

How Hannan has retained his place is beyond me - he is a total passenger at the moment. At least Spargo looks interested occasionally, even if he doesn't have Hannan's ability.

I assume Hibberd for J.Wagner will be the only change, with C.Wagner to travel as the emergency. O.McDonald needs to play at Casey this week and get some confidence back. I don't see any value to playing Lewis unless finals suddenly become a reasonable chance later in the season.

Looking forward to seeing my first live game at the ground this season.  Would love for us to bring home a win, but whilst I have high hopes, I'm not particularly confident that we can get the job done.

Credit where it is due to the MFC administration team.  I applied to claim one of my interstate membership games earlier in the week and the sent me an email with a link for me to download my ticket.  Slightly unbeknowns to me was that the email didn't contain the actual ticket, so I got a polite phone call from the club this morning telling me that an email with a pdf of my actual ticket would be appearing in my inbox, as a result of the MFC administration team doing a quick round up of those that hadn't yet done it for themselves.  Well done and thanks guys - customer service at it's best! ?

Yep same here. Phone call then the email with latest tickets. Mind you I have had 3 emails with tickets since I booked them in May, first 2 with what I believe invalid tickets and today the real ones I trust.

Only 1 change. Hibberd in. Wagner out.

Wow what a surprise no Preuss again.

Cant see why we got him. Could be a powerful duo he and Gawn if given a bloody chance.

Over the last 5 weeks (when we have played better football) Max has played game time % of: 90, 91, 88, 86 and 94.   Max has been BOG or in our best each week.

If Max was playing 75-80% game time or not playing consistently well a strong case could be made for Preuss.   While we would all like to see Preuss play, its hard to see how to fit him in especially as Tom Mc seems to be improving as a forward.

Do you know how the extended bench or emergencies system work?

If one of May, Frost or Petty were to be late outs due to a niggle during warm up or a sudden bout of gastro, who do you think might replace them? Remember Brisbane will have Hipwood, McStay and one of either McInerney or Martin in the forward line. Hore and Pig are not tall enough, Tmac is a waste down back (he played back first qtr last week and was terrible during that time). Omac is the obvious next in line

As it is, Omac is an emergency. So almost certainly will play for Casey.

@Demonland Heard you on podcast (Grinter interview was excellent by the way, brought back some fond and painful memories) saying you’re making the trip. Good timing with school holidays! As it turns out, I’ll be taking my brood, too. Never been to the Gabba. What’s it like for spectators (we’ll be on wing, ground level, I think)?

Went last year for the Suns game and had a fabulous time (winning helps). We really liked the ground and the viewing is terrific, think Marvel without the roof and the seating as you go back isn't as steep. We are flying up again on Saturday flying back Monday. Having lunch at the German Club on Sunday (great pork knuckle) and then a few bevs with the QLD Demons at the Pineapple prior to the game.

Myself and Mrs Worship went out to Coburg on Sunday and met up with a regular Training and VFL watcher /devotee. We had an extensive discussion regarding Preuss and our friend pointed out that in the previous 3 outings watching Preuss he had been dominate in the first half and also kicked multiple goals but ran out of legs in the second half. We proceeded to watch this occur again although it wasn't as obvious as previous. This may have been because the ball was camped in our forward line for 75% of the game. We came away from the game thinking Preuss will get his chance when his engine improves or heaven forbid, Max misses a game.

As an aside, this is the second Casey game I've been to where the 3qtr time huddle has broken up and I've observed Maxy walking away with Preuss and Maxy coaching and encouraging him. I like this a lot. I would not be at all surprised if Max's opinion isn't being sort when it comes to when Preuss gets a call up.

Thank you for your comments on the Interview on the podcast.

Both grapeviney and I went to the Gold Coast game at the Gabba last year as sat on the ground level on the wing/half forward. I prefer one level up in general but it was fine. I think I've just got general admin and week probably sit near the cheer squad or I'll just roam around.

Sounds good, thanks for the info. Would have loved to get to the German Club (Weissbier is a particular favourite), but we’re arriving not long before start of game.

Good stuff. I might do a bit of roaming too, if things aren’t going our way!

I am thoroughly bewildered by the outrage about OMac being named an emergency. It’s not often these days that I see something on these forums that I haven’t seen before, but this one is definitely new.

Today's Casey Demon's inclusions suggest Jordan Lewis is the travelling emergency to the "Gabba.

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
