well that was very encouraging

goes to show how much better you look when you have 13 afl-listed players performing at vfl level as opposed to our usual 6-10 for the majority of the year thus far

Great team effort with lots of positives today. Good to see dominance of inside 50s converted into goals.

Good win. they moved the ball around impressively all day. thought all the AFL listed guys were good and showed a bit to get excited about at various times.

To regular Casey watchers, is this Lefau kid a draft chance? Only caught the last quarter but man he has some toe.

When he is on he looks like a B level AFL player, but he also goes missing badly as a half forward. He feels more like a good VFL player than an AFL listed one but hell what do I know!

Things I noticed watching most of the second half, was, heads over the ball. on a cold winter day. Well played guys. Dunkley will play seniors before the year is out. reuss and Bradkie encouraging each other, KK will be an asset once he settles in and stays fit. Keilty to be delisted. Petty looks a better prospect.

Thanks KC and all other posters I watched on Ch7 but kept getting on line to see the comments. That was a top effort from Casey and I loved the way they marked the ball and controlled it at different stages and got their eye back in after half time as well. We have some serious pace in there as well.

Go Casey.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lockhart is a class above this level already, reckon he will cement a spot in the 22 next year

Very impressed with Dunkley as well. And good to see KK doing well: I was concerned for him, but he was very good today, may have a future.

Mitch White looks as though he has some good footy left in him. Very strong overhead for his size.

Agreed.  Re-invented as a more than useful forward.  They said he's still only 23, which I was a little surprised at.  Seems ages ago he was a MFC-listed player!!

Great effort by our small forwards today in Bedford, Chandler, Lockhart and Wagner! They kept the pressure on all day ensuring the Pies couldn't get the ball outside our forward 50. Lewis looked very poised, and set up a lot of play from the back half.

I didn’t believe you, so went and looked it up and he is indeed 23. I honestly thought he was pushing 30.

He is a decent player, just lacks a bit more agility and a yard of pace to make it IMO.

Very impressed with Lockhart’s game. Really developing well. Like that he can play small forward and small back - could fill the void that’s created when Nev eventually retires.

A lovely day at Casey beginning with a hot egg and bacon roll after joining a very long gate queue filled with Magpie supporters.

Very little red and blue by comparison to the ubiquitous jail stripes.

Luckily the score board kept the Pies supporters very quiet. A stiff breeze across the ground made precision football difficult. I think Casey could have won by 100 points without the wind such was the dominance.

I'm afraid the numbers stumped me from a player reporting viewpoint but I was impressed with KK's first half. Definitely something there.

Preuss marked and rucked strongly and could perhaps have had  a couple more goals.

Hard to judge the result as the Pies were in the main woeful... which was of course pleasant in itself.

Looking forward to the next day out with Casey.. but hell it was getting cold at the end !!

Sadly could not watch/ attend today. But any time you beat any pies team is a good day and when you win by ten goals it is a very good day.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
