Are the Demons capable of coming out and displaying some shinboner spirit?

If they don’t I’ll be drinking some sort of spirit.

Another game day arrives for us Demon diehards.  Another evening of:

* Threats to smash the TV.

* Threats to inflict pain upon an assortment of MFC players.

* Forgetting I am at home, not at the game, and yelling abuse at players/umpires/commentators/random people.

* The family cat giving my feet a wide berth.

* My wife repeatedly saying “language, please!” from wherever she might be in the house.

* Checking her whereabouts whilst sneaking to the fridge for some calming fluid.

* Taking off my “lucky” game day Demons polo shirt off and driving it into the washing basket from 5 metres away.

* Going to bed in a grumpy mood.

* Waking up thinking about next weeks game.

Viney to kick the winning goal on the run with 55 seconds left to win a high scoring affair - 6.10.46 to 4.17.41

I have no idea why I believe we will win tonight but I think we will.

Dees by 9 points.

However, I would ad spanking the maid.

At least we wont have to put up with Razer Ray tonight making the game all about himself

Is she a crows fan?

You should change your name to deeviant or do we have one already?

He's more likely to get caught trying to shrug a third tackler on the run from 30m out

Won’t happen. He won’t get past the second.

Still have no idea how Spargo gets a game!! I would play Weeds instead put him at CHF with Jeffy at his feet! The other thing I would do is play Clarry AT FF for periods of time. Call it madness but I would give it a try!

Agreed, as long as the footy department wants to pick passengers, this team will really struggle to win. Perhaps that is the plan rather than tanking in games.

We can win this game but probably wont. As long as they don't do to us as the windies did to the pakies last night.

Look at the teams we have beaten, and the manner in which we won.

Then look at the teams we have been beaten by, and the manner in which we lost those games.

The Crows arent a great team, but we will be lucky to still be in this match at halftime imo.

P.S. Goody to mention "connection/s" at least 2 times in the post match presser.

Not feeling the best today so unfortunately I won't be going to Werribee even though it is not far. What happened to VFL games on tv?

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
