CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Adelaide

It's probably too early to get this thread going but whatever.

In an ideal world, we'd get back Salem and maybe Hannan too.

I'd be looking for replacements for Petty, Spargo, C Wagner and T Smith.

So maybe that's Salem, Hannan, Weideman and ANB?

Was there and stayed till the end. The season is a shambles and is over. I think a couple of high profile players need to be dropped as a statement if nothing else. Gus and TMac come to mind. Work out which of the young ones have the right attitude and stick with them. Thankyou.

Probably too soon for Hannan, though given what we've currently got on the park ...

Ins from Hibberd,  Salem,  Neal-Bullen,  Weideman, Lewis.

Too soon IMO :

Lever,

Hannan

May

Kolodjashnij

Kennedy-Harris

I think these guys need more game time in their bodies,  before selection in our AFL jumper.

Out - Spargo, C. Wagner, Smith, OMac, J. Wagner

In - Salem, ANB, Weideman, Lever, Hibberd

I don’t know if those ins are possible, but that is 5 clear upgrades and makes us at least competitive.

For goodness sake anyone but Lewis, the game has passed him by. Ideally he’d retire from AFL now (give us another pick in the mid season draft) and play out the VFL season as an on field coach.

Tim Smith should stay in, only one remotely looking like key forward today

A few others looked sore... Petty was limping a bit

... time to re-start this teams evolution.

Theory is,  not to go in too tall,  up in Darwin.

For my mind it’s simple now, season is done, so make sure we are best prepared for next year:

- Don't play anyone unless 100% fit, healthy and with appropriate game time at VFL level under the belt

- Play everyone who needs to build experience and game time at senior level with a focus on learning and development. Play a really simple game plan that encourages them to use their natural instincts

- Make sure anyone who will need surgery prior to preseason has it done ASAP so that they can actually do a pre-season

- Start the search for new line coaches, fitness coach, kicking coach ASAP and get them on board immediately to maximize time to gel with the group prior to next year

- Cop the AFL fine for not tanking with good grace and move on

In: Salem, Neal-Bullen

Out: Spargo, C.Wagner

Surely none of Lever (supposedly injured at Casey today), Hibberd or Hannan are ready yet.

Fritsch goes as well if we want to play Preuss.

Weideman was very good at Casey, Lewis was our best... Surely they get picked after the complete Sh!tshow that was presented today

JKH is a shoe in for next week barring injuries. Thought l would let you know early.

Oh! the rest of the above look good as well.

You could make the case for some big changes if the injuries come up:

Weiderman, Salem, ANB, Lewis, May, Hibbard, Hannan. Goody also mentioned KK and JKH.

The only time you make 4+ changes are when you have a heap of players who are best 22 coming back. We could make the case that 7 changes are just getting our healthy bodies back and Wagers, Lockhart, Petty etc are just heading back to the 2s.

(Jake) Lever, (Mitch) Hannan, (Michael) Hibberd, (Christian) Salem, (Alex) Neal-Bullen, (Steven) May, (Kade) Kolodjashnij, (Sam) Weideman and (Jay) Kennedy Harris

All to come back.

Hibberd, Salem, ANB, Kade and Weeds were all in the side when we were arguably playing our worst footy for the hear.

Hannah helps, Lever is obviously a huge inclusion, JKH is okay I guess.

We have huge depth issues.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
