1 needs to improve  over next 3 weeks (to some degree uncontrollable despite the anti-Mission sentiment on DL) 3 and 4 are priority for 2020.

2. Is simply an indictment on the whole Footy Department, not enough focus on skills, particularly kicking, especially goal kicking

Thank you coach.  It's not rocket science.   At one stage Goody had Spargo at FF with Davis manning him!!  That might work if you were bringing the ball in quick and dirty like Port did to the Eagles.  Certainly not with the bash / crash / bombing style that Goody has us playing.

At least the gameplan didn't let us down today.

We hardly had the ball in our forward line for the first 3/4 so there wasn't much chance for the easy out.

And to think they missed 4 easy goals in that first quarter .. this could so easily and probably should have been a hundred point loss.

I hate watching Goody's pressers. Always the same smug look on his face, like the questions being asked are ridiculous, and that there should not be any expectation on a side that played a prelim last year (and therefore should be getting better, not worse)

We're getting better at losing, is what he meant to say.

Those things you list as his traits are all things I’d expect of a good forward. What I think is more likely is he gets outpositioned and outmarked frequently, does nothing whatsoever at ground level and then gets destroyed by defenders running off.

I know I’m probably being over the top in my criticism, but I’m convinced many have allowed romanticism about what Preuss may offer blind them to what he actually does offer. What he offers is a ruckman who can play when Gawn can’t, and to me that’s about it.

Unless Jahesus H Christmas and a few others of his ilk are ready then I'm calling this FAKE NEWS

Skills have been poor for 15 years GYM. How is that even possible?

I cant get over the way he trots out the same lines over and over again

You have to wonder!

We were so poor, it was not funny.  In the first half, Max Gawn almost alone carried the team.  He was best on at half time.

In the second quarter and the third, Viney willed himself into every contest.  I sometimes feel he is a one trick pony, but you could see the effort he was making to change things up.  

After this, the overall performance was poor.

Skills were atrocious.  We cannot take an uncontested mark, and for us a contested mark (apart from Max) is like a mythical unicorn.  Hore tried hard.

Our ability to hit a target was simply second rate.

Stretch loves to stop and go back to take his kick.  Every time.  There were fast options on, and he ignored them and allowed the Giants time to set up defensively.

We were smashed in the midfield.  With Max offering silver service, we were simply poor around every contest.

The umpires only hate Mumford more than us, which means Mummy gave up frees, and apart from this we went unrewarded all day.  However, we didnt deserve any charity.

The defensive unit was on a hiding to nothing.  The spread and coverage upfield meant these guys we always out of position and running second. We applied so little pressure, and they ran around us, all damned day.

It was a mix of lack of effort and lack of talent.

Why cant we perform inside 50?  In 9 weeks, we still have no idea how to find a forward or kick a goal.  What is going on, when you clear all of the BS and ‘connection’ messages from Goody, what else is going so wrong, that we simply cannot perform up to any standard forward of the ball?

There are massive problems here.  

On the plus side, Baker showed something, and could be our small forward.  Garlett tried hard, but has been taking kicking lessons from Petracca.

We were flattered by the final score line today.  Pathetic.

It has been said Bring in Preuss for a number of reasons. He is not slow compared to half of the side we had playing today. For censored sakes  Football Dept he can take a mark and kick a goal and straighten us up. More than half of the side we had in today. He is tall and strong and only 23 years old What is wrong with that? POOR Gawn looked exhausted and was looking for help replied PREUSS PLEASE HELP ME I AM CENSORED TIRED HELP! HELP!   

 POOR GAWNY.  

 Preuss is quick and agile compared to  at least half of the personnel we had out there today.      Goodwin please bring him back.

Yep. I agree. There were steps last year where we fought against adversity. The win in Perth, where no one really thought we’d win, the first of the finals where majority of the public thought the experience of Geelong playing in multiple finals campaigns would knock us off. 

No doubt this year has reared its ugly head but let’s see if that flakiness has more to do with personnel rather than history of our culture.

I don't want to argue, but the Demons started way behind the 8 ball preparation wise with too many players - e.g.McDonald, Viney, Olive etc - still basically in recovery mode after post season surgery. I also bet the overall injury list at Richmond and Collingwood is not as long as Melbourne's.
