Our season would have been over multiple times in the last month if it weren't for Hunt. Amazing return to form for him.

The goals we’ve left on the table tonight is extraordinary. We’ve been the better side by a country mile.

FCS Stretch has been solid for 3 or 4 weeks now.

100%. But he's been a liability for a while.

I'd love a sneaky goal before quarter time.

We habe SMASHED them in general play ..but again our forward craft and work rate  is just diabolical.  Should be 8 goals up!!   TRACC  WTF.

Jeffy into the mid field pushing forward  has him up and about finally!!

Goodwin with the sign of the devil.

Mixture of sublime passages of play and comical turn overs and simple misses.

Exhibit one: Tracc

Every laying into Garlett - he’s kicked three goals and setup another. He’s never perfect and misses some opportunities, but he’s one of the most efficient and productive forwards going around. He’s always creating opportunities and hitting the scoreboard. He’s the most proven goal kicker we’ve had in a decade. Just enjoy him!

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
