deebug 1,754 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 I hope our club stays far away from that c#%$ Just start the season? Quote
Bring-Back-Powell 15,555 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 I understand the club is prioritising AFLX 3 and treating the home and away season as a form of experimentation - hence the 3-5 start to the season. 1 4 Quote

Well it's one way to get the attention of the Gen Z's/youth market 1 Quote
Diamond_Jim 12,775 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Why would clubs "bid" for a licence in a competition that they already own? This isn't the IPL. Somewhere in this comp there might be a game of sorts but the marketers are being let run wild 2 Quote
What 18,810 Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 LOL. The head honchos AFL House always thinking with their wallet. The game is going down the tubes. 5 1 Quote

Little Goffy 14,970 Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 I think there's a typo. Actually the clubs have to bid to NOT get an AFLX licence. 3 3 Quote

Roger Mellie 4,205 Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 We could bid 42 x slightly used MFC blazers. Nah, that's too much 1 Quote

La Dee-vina Comedia 17,137 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Didn't I just read that Shaun Smith has criticised the organisation of the 2019 EJ Whitten Game for converting it to AFL-X in format? I've always believed that there's a place for AFL-X, but this isn't it. I see it as a simplistic game played overseas as a way of accommodating amateur players, where there are smaller numbers playing (so it allows for reduced team sizes) playing on rectangular fields. But I wouldn't care if it died a nautural death, either. Quote

Gee whiz, 3-5. Back when there was still a glimmer of hope. Quote
