Changes vs Richmond

I’m so mad to even really bother.

Out Spargo

in Garlett

whatever.

Im seriously considering not going. That was just appalling to watch.

Is it really gonna matter? Richmonds speed will tear us apart.

Their mosquito squad is gonna be at half mast already.

Out: Finals

In: Languishing in the bottom half of the ladder.

What a f'ing waste of a season.

in: first pick of the draft

out: optimism

?

Fraudsters!

Not many options. No point rushing May or Lever this season.

Well, let's see how they go tonight.

One thing in our favour for the ANZAC Eve game, quite a few of our players will have fresh legs.

Having said that, clearly Spargo and Corey Wagner are eminently replaceable, with the obvious in being Garlett, and I guess Stretch gets another run at AFL, as much as the very thought will have a few peopl tearing their hair out.

Out Wagner's ,hore , Spargo and all vfl standard players. Do we have any AFL standard to come in ?

I’m happy to play short

Tbf, the one I will say is Stretch. I know he’s not the saviour, but he’s someone who can provide us what we don’t have, he can run both ways on a wing.

I take it we have not traded this away yet.

NO point player lever at all till next year

Tmac needs to join his brother. His best effort was going through the banner. He must be injured so do not play him.

Can we forfeit next week and drop the whole team to Casey? Might be better than putting up with soulless efforts.

I’d drop Spargo who has no idea what he’s doing out there defensively.

I’d also pretend to “rest” at least one of Hibberd, Jones and TMac.

Agree on Spargo, should be dropped.

I thought Hore was alright and the Wagner family were competitive.

At least this loss cannot be blamed on Oscar.

The indecision delivering the ball into the fwd line  does not give Weids,TMAc any chance I think TMAc is injured becasue he is not running like he can.

Jeets was good today. Woried about Hibberds ability to \compete 1 on 1.

Charlie Spargo has to learn to make good decisions i.e When there are 4 or 5 Melbourne blokes , WHY KICK IT TO a CONTEST !!!!!!

Fritsch , Brayshaw, Gawn Good  , Preuss & Petracca Good first half.

Probably the worst I have seen the team play for 3 years.  The loss to WC in Prelim Final showed ALL sides how to play Melbourne.

How come Ratten got away from us . He would be worth more than what we are paying May.

Out - Finals

In - Top 3 pick

Play the kids

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
