Imagine spending your war chest on Jared Polec.

Gee I hate essendon. They bring in Daniher knowing they will cop a fine, but it's like oh well we have the money to fund that.

Well if the past year is to go buy nth won't be playing this game next year. The AFL took it off the dogs last year and after Nth's woeful performance today, I mean 4-14 that is a disgrace for a professional team.

Ive stopped watching after 1/2 time. Last nights game was a snooze fest after 1/2 time and Im not watching essendon win there 3rd game in a row. We must have given them there form and confidence back.

Im thinking Brad Scott could be in the news this week. They went out and recruited all these players from other clubs and they are near the bottom.

Gee we better win tomorrow.

I actually saw an Umpire give a free kick against TWSNBN in the First Quarter. I hope nothing happens in the CBD tonight.

I've missed something here, what is 'TWSNBN'?

The Western Suburbs National Broadband Network?

Everyone slagging off North should take a moment to appreciate that we are in essentially the same circumstance.

Only if we get flogged tomorrow.

They also have great disposal and a fantastic mid field.

Buckley is getting it right.   They are almost flag favourites.

The Club that secretly went to the AFL and said if you don't get  us the best onballer, inside and outside mid from GWS we will get back on the turps again and hold our breath.

was ready to watch that game if it got interesting scorewise but like last night it was a slow moving train wreck.

Let's hope the game in the west is a little closer.

Other than Hawthorn v Geelong on Monday it really is a lacklustre round of football from a match up viewpoint.

Memo to Nought Melbourne

Get your sorry [censored] down to Tassie and stay there, what an absolute waste of a game that was today. You are a drain on this cities resources and nobody except your 30 odd thousand members gives a shiit whether you live or die

Ben Brown continues to stage for kicks even after being in the spotlight all week.

Pack ya bags North....

Jack Ziebell the captain with 6 possessions.  Ouch.

respect where it is due.

Port may not have got the reward on the scoreboard but that was a great first quarter.

Lost count of the contested marks

West coast playing terribly. Two scoring shots in a quarter. This is despite the usual biased umpiring. Free kicks 8-3 so far. Their only goal from a free kick of course

Two blatant frees to port in the last minute not payed.

Ill be cheering on port. Thought Trenners might have got a call up? Maybe just emg

Port Adelaide are mauling the eagles.  Stronger, faster and running much harder.

I found that very surprising. It was really quite obvious.

It would seem that the 3 teams that have beaten us are all playing very well atm....maybe we aint that bad.

So did i, it is obviously the only way he knows how to play.

It must be exploited as much as possible

Tomorrow will tell a lot about where we are

Port playing with the audacity we were late last year.  Eagle look way off, not sure if its a just an off night, the rain or Port pressure.  But the most entertaining game to watch this round so far.

The eagles are playing the same as they did last week against Freo. Wet conditions don't help but port are much better in it.

Gee Port that is pretty impressive keeping West Coast to only 2 goals on there home ground at half time. So far the 3 games have been over by half time. I can't see port losing this.

Haha one player (Petruccelle) has until this point kicked the entirety of the Eagles score (2.2)

I think this that stat will last, well you dont think so?

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
