What could possibly go wrong?

Perfectly valid question, would be interested in the answers, of course could be masochism involved, would make a good social study

Me, if I don't see the required team defence from the get go will be switching off

this is beyond a joke - there are too many soft tissue injuries. Enquiries need to be made.

The enquiry to be called Misson Impossible

Hahaha. It's not like we are playing against one of the generations greatest ever Forwards tonight...

Despite years of beltings I can proudly say I've never once turned off or walked out before full time. Different levels of supporting your team I suppose.

I'll suffer or glee through it however agree Saty the Forwards MUST pressure their defence and Mids NEED to get back and assist the Backs then when we have the ball, lower eyes and hit targets up or in front so they can run onto the pill.

Look I truly do commend you, I should have learnt my lesson I walked out on the Dees V Dogs game in 05 when White won us the game... Sadly I do turn the games off now I think part of me believes me watching is the problem and if I turn it off a miracle might happen....

After the round 4 Hawks debacle last year Jackson came out and said the players 'Trashed Our Brand'. He said questions were asked of the football and coaching departments.

I wonder how long it will take Pert to come out with fire and brimstone if we lose badly tonight and we are 0-4?

Yes.

I will be amazed if the Swans don’t go rampant tonight on their home deck.

Essendrug are a shiit team and they kicked 8 unanswered last week, after we had taken the lead, thinking the job was done.

How many times have i witnessed that over many years

The Circle ️ of truth will not be enough when the coach persists with a gameplan that has been punctured and picked apart.

Strong statements like these are so very worth reading, SWYL. It takes some convincing for some readers, no doubt, but there are some deeper thoughts against which we are fighting but fail to recognise.

When the finances take a hit which we should be on a path to

There is a cost-saver at hand, thankfully, and it works as a guaranteed reverse investment: sack OMac, stop paying him for wasting our time and good fortunes, and do it before the kick-off for the match against the Swans tonight. Our fortunes will swell from just one action.

Jetta a late withdrawl - no reason given. ?  He hasn't looked right all year so better to let him recover than risk whatever it is getting worse.

Hore to replace him.

Hore's debut was the least promising I've seen, from another club recruit since Tom Gillies in rd 1 2013.

Hope he is better 2nd time around. I'd more faith in Petty (I'll forgive his shocker debut as he is young and has upside) or Spargo!

Sorry to derail.....

The closest I ever came was in Brisbane in 2002. The tickets were a birthday present from some good mates, and when we went to our seats the row behind us was full of workmates that had bought tickets in that very row purely coincidentally, all Brisbane fans.

We were destroyed in the first quarter, 2nd only marginally better, and I was getting caned from all sides. At half time I said I need a break and went to the TAB downstairs. That was no better, but the crowd was starting to get noisy so I went back to the seats. We were back in the game and I was back in full voice. In the end we pumped them and I left hoarse.

German Club for a few more and meet some players, next was the Pineapple for a few more beers, and a security guard I know from around the traps said to me mate are you ok, you don't look great. I said I was flying after the Dees win.

From there into town and a few more pubs and I finally said to the boys I've gotta go, don't feel right. I can't for the life of me remember how I got home, but I do know I got home and flicked on the TV, right as the ball was bounced for Q1 of the replay. Righto, back on the beers and watched the whole game again, a dozen empty stubbies left to clean up in the morning.

I woke up the next day to the phone ringing, was a mate calling to congratulate me. Was on the phone in my Reg Grundys when mum turned up to congratulate me. A mate was staying with me at the time so he let her in and she said in horror, what's happened to your arms (massive bruising on the back of both arms, and legs). I said it's not my arms mum, it's my chest, which was absolutely pounding and I could hardly breathe. I called everyone to see what happened and nobody could remember. Did the cabbie run over you when you got home etc, etc. Possibly, can't remember the trip home.

The boys also bought me a TAB ticket on the Dees, so it was my shout for tucker the next night. RSL (the ticket wasn't that big) for pokies and beers. We'd given up on trying to work out what happened, when one of the lad's eyes lit up. He grabbed a keno ticket, wrote something on the back. He turned it face down and slid it across the table to me (still clutching the chest, but pain dulled by sherbets). I lifted the keno ticket to see 2 words. Wheelie bin.

As we were leaving the ground I was absolutely spraying anyone in Lions gear. Payback for all the times I've put up with their crap. The boys grabbed me and tried to throw me in a wheelie bin to shut me up. By rights they should've got me in, their 300+ kilos to my 75, but they couldn't, I was bulletproof. Or was I?

Off to the doctor next day, fractured sternum, 4-6 in Misso speak, but in reality 8-10. Who needs enemies hey.

My best day at the footy, and the closest I've ever come to walking out.

This season is our worst nightmare, surely things will improve soon

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
