Nowhere to hide, glad its on a Friday night...

I'll be hiding under my bed if we can't win this.

I reckon we'll either win or lose this one

There's no need to be controversial.

A draw wouldn't surprise me.

biggest bummer is that mcg is now predicting a crowd of 58k

that's at least ten, possibly twenty, short of what we'd ideally want to be achieving on what should be a fantastic night for football - 27 degrees during the day, cooling slightly in the evening

if both teams were 2-0 and had played well to start the year then there'd be a lot more theatre goers and fans who can't be bothered coming along to it

i can't wait, but i think it'll be peptides by 13 points in a scrapfest in front of a disappointing 54k or so crowd

hope i'm wrong tho! i'd take a 31 point win in front of 45k that's fer sure

First home game against Essendon since?

Last time at the MCG was that disastrous rnd 2 game in 2016 where we lost to their VFL side. But our last actual home game against them was 2010 rnd 15 (beat them by 19 points).

Had ALMOST forgot about that game, thanks for the reminder

Watt if itza draw ?

Lose this one and top 4 is gone.

With the 80 point loss to Geelong our percentage will be a problem so we will need 14 wins to make the 8. Possible but throw in those two home games we have sold to the NT and the equation becomes unlikely.

The upside is that we will have ample opportunity to trial the likes of Petty and Baker, get a decent draft pick and an easier draw next year.

Big game to say the least.

The big question is who will be forced to wear the clash strip?

Our home game

They can wear pajamas.

then I'll be wrong and there'll be rioting by both side's supporters post game

I don't mind if they wear their home strip, once they have to wear white lab coats over them, courtesy of Dank Enterprises

Essendon playing like [censored]. What could go wrong?

Still cant believe all the work that goes into this website. Where do you find the time? Ive looked at some of the other sites, Bomberblitz for example. The are just so bad, boring and drab and you can hardly even read them. Well done @Demonland

If we lose this then say hello to 2020.

Apparently closing whole train lines for weeks at a time = intermittent construction works.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
