They looked like they were going to eat that goal umpire...

The great thing about tonight is that one of them will lose! Much to dislike about both. (Haven’t noticed a big change  in the quality of the commentary narrative).

The Magfumbles v The Impurrfects !!

Some rubbish 'technical' frees.

Spoils the game

Same old issues for Geelong, if Hawkins ain’t kicking goals they just don’t score enough. One trick pony’s

No conclusions should be made from Round 1. Players are always rusty, however so much for the rule changes, hasn't made this game a better spectacle.

I fully support their efforts to open up the game more and get less crowding around the ball.

That's about as blatant a ban-able offense as there is Clint.

Kicking is absolutely woeful

Don’t worry about extending the goalsquare, extend the sticks. Spraying them all over the place tonight.

10 wins for the year, preferably against other teams that we're battling with to be top two :P

Last night I enjoyed watching on TV, with ABC GRANDSTAND audio.

Unfortunately tonight they have that annoying Curly Underwear ... inane commentary and an absolutely awful grating voice.  (Some may say I am sexist but it is voiceist only).

Selwood . Still a protected species

He’s a fantastic player but the way the he plays for free kicks is disgusting. The only thing that makes it worse is the umpires pay them.

That was a good tackle from Varcoe.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
