If we can hold Brisbane to 27 goals we can consider it a win.

Clarry's been quiet too. We appear to be half arsed in our tackling. Hope they get their act together in the next couple of weeks.

Guys it’s ok. We are handballing it a bazillion more times than kicking... it’s all good!

Only positives so far are Hunt and Petracca playing to their strengths and having an impact. Gawn is wining taps, but it's not leading to any effective clearances. Everyone else is playing poorly, and the effort is non-existent.

Hope the coach gives them a rocket and makes them have a crack. We're getting shown up by a worse team than us who are more organised and working harder.

attitude going into, preparing for this game

For what it is worth, just saw Preuss walking off with no limb

do you mean limp

We are playing like a side that doesn't want to be out there, soft dropping marks, its like we just want to get through to round 1

Good god ANB is horrible.. can never keep his feet and just fumbly at all costs.

Hibberd is a worry for me.

JLT melts in full swing...

Not sure if you've noticed Sisso, but going back to early 2000's, our season proper has generally reflected our pre-season form.

Imagine having to go to Amersfoort ?

I've been to both Cranbourne East and  Amersfoort. There are an awful lot of Dutchmen there but frankly, I prefer Amersfoort.

Lions taking this game very seriously. Dees taking it half arsed. Scoreline reflects it.

Is it for four points? No. Just get through boys.

Nibbler has been awful this pre season. No other way to dress it.

Yep about to say... nibbler hasnt hit a target all game and is going to ground WAY too easy...

a few egos deflated in that qtr playing like a bunch of prima donnas  and shirt lifters

Oscar is a spud he will cost us games he gave away the first 3 goals bring in Frost.

Started ok with their first 2 goals coming from Oscar McDonald being a total turnip.

After that it’s been lazy tackling, poor skills, inability to get balance at a clearance or a crumb and the backline going to [censored].

Why we are playing a spare behind the ball in a practice game is beyond me. Are we really that slow????

Not surprised Brisbane are good. More disappointed we can’t string any midfield skill together

I backed him last week, but he missed a handball, slipped over etc. He had a bit of a mare early.

Possibly, can’t find it in myself to get worried about this yet though

Watt do you think happens... when players go into a game,  and play to not get injured. ????

At this stage I’ll take my chances with C wagner over ANB

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
