Awsome news.  A great day for our club.

I'm wondering if Daisy is the first AFL player to give birth during their playing career, or have their been any others in AFLW of lesser profile we just didn't hear about.

Fantastic news!  Great to see mum and bubs healthy.

...Maybe Daisy will swap the red and grey swaddling colours to red and blue soon.  Then again, the club has probably already sent her baby dee jumpers with # 6 on the back with their names or with 'mummy'.

Fantastic news. Made my Monday! Congratulations!

Serious question. Has the AFL created a mother/daughter or mother/son rule? If so, what are the requirements (apart from the mother actually having a son or daughter, or, in this case, both)?

And congratulations to Daisy and her suddenly bigger family.

A class act.

Hard to measure Daisy's contribution to the Club but it has been huge.

Has brought so much not only to Women's footy but the whole club.

Total respect from all.

Now a proud Mum with two little Demons.

She gets everything right. A girl and a boy. Perfect.

Congratulations, Daisy!  Well done!

Now, no more slacking off!  You are expected back in full training by Thursday, and line up with the team next weekend!  (Well, if the blokes can do it after the birth of their kids, why can't the sheilas? -- the age of equality and all that!  ONLY KIDDING LADIES)

This is an earlier thread but I can't get behind the paywall to answer the question.

Congrats to Daisy and family. We now have two new recruits that we can start developing at an early age. Teach them that there are only two colours of significance in the universe (red and blue of course) as well as  the six times table. Too early for ball skills.

Hope that when the AFL decides to introduce rules for mother/son and mother/daughter recruitment that any time spent on 'being mum' duty is counted.

Hadn't seen the photos with bonnets when I wrote this post. Great start but now for the clothes.

Later breaking news.

The bubs in red and blue beanies which look especially knitted - very becoming ?

Hope Daisy makes her post playing career at the Dees; an incredible asset to our club.

Wonderful news and two great looking kids. Love the red and blue beanies and booties.

Congrats to Daisy and Ben.

More for the red and blue army!

Great news and awesome result. Future mens and womens team players maybe.

Super rapt, Daisy really is amazing, as are all mums who have just delivered a baby, in this case two. This news made my day, and the women flogged Brisbane on the weekend, perfect football timing.

She is great for the club and is the highest profile Melbourne player in my living memory.

All round superstar!

Congratulations to Daisy and family.

May they lead happy and fulfilling lives.

Preseason in 18 years...ink it in

No pressure you understand :)

Can't help but love Daisy.

Unlike some who have come from relative obscurity to stardom, Daisy demonstrates humility, good sense and admirable values.

Congrats to her, her partner and families.

I still remember the media interview, at the start of the league, I think it was AFL360, when she said I am only going to Melbourne in front of Gil. My love was huge right at that point, only grown since, absolute rock star that I think is very influential on raising our club's profile.

A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting (or fanboy ambushing, call it what you will) Daisy at my workplace. She graciously signed a picture, made out to my then two year old twin girls. The picture has been stuck to our fridge ever since.

The other week, I took the girls to their first ever game of footy - the AFLW game against the Filth at Vic Park. The previous night, I proudly presented them with their first MFC jumper and revved them up for a day on the terraces. As my heart burst with pride, they declared they we 'just like Daisy' and proceeded to start training immediately in the living room. What a day we had watching the girls beat the old enemy on their own infamous, stinking turf! It worked on another layer too as my Pies loving father used to take me there as a kid before and after I 'Deefected', and he joined us, much to his spiritual chagrin. Poor grandpa.

Anyway, the only issue I had was the girls craning their necks, frantically trying to find Daisy. I explained that Daisy wasn't playing because she was close to having twins, just like them, but this excuse didn't wash and I had to quickly placate them with popcorn and hot chips. They expected Daisy to have played yesterday too! I expect them to debut in 2034 at CHF/CHB, no pressure.

How good is it that my little ones have such an awesome role model and a whole generation of girls can now look up to heroes just like them. Daisy is a massive asset to the MFC and AFL in all areas and she just bloody rocks.

Congratulations to Daisy and her partner and welcome to the wild and wonderful world of multiple parenting!

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
