After a time, the critical, negative comments about players become a sore, a bore and a chore, especially when it is focused on alleged shortcomings in talent, fitness or effort without any real, objective evidence. Unsubstantiated opinions are fine so long as they don't end up as substitutes for facts.

I believe that each player is working as hard as he can and I rely on the club's assessment in adding him or keeping him on the list. Crossy's reported insiders comments about Tracca validate my belief.

2020  2019

Go dees.

I have taken the liberty of editing your excellent post, tiers.

Thank you for the reports. I was told by someone that Leigh Fisher and Razor Ray were heading down to Gopschs paddock for the match simulation and practise with the new rule interpretation. With a mention of our cutting edge tech were the drills designed to get players and umpires on the same page with the new rules?

I have previously explained how I came to determine that 2020 will be our year.

If, as Deeoldfart suggests, it happens to come sooner, I can handle the excitement. But I believe that whilst we may have the talent this year, we may still need more development.

As someone once said in a different context, the future is so bright that I need my sunglasses.

Or oxy goggles.

oooh sexy - our program is cutting edge.

anyone have intel on what the paradigm shift is? Let's touch base, going forward and get distruptive, as I can see all the low hanging fruit in the pipeline. I guess we need to leverage our assets and move the needle and think outside the box to synergise  our 360degree thinking.

So I'd love to pick your brain and take a deep dive.

I'm pretty sure your user name equates to over indulging. Although I think your post was tongue in cheek, I'm not sure what you'll find if you go deep diving

I called out “buzzword bingo” half way through reading your post!

I'm a bit worried about the amount of players on restrictions or have been on restrictions this pre-season. Oliver, Brayshaw, Lever, Viney, Melksham etc.

Me too.

I think it will cost us in the long run.

Aside from Gawn, our complete starting midfield has been in rehab this pre season. How in anyone’s language is that a good preparation for the long season ahead?

Well , we've sorted Tommy Mac's toe so I guess we have to find something to slash our wrists over...

I think the days are gone when players train within the main group when they have an injury or niggle. I’d suggest any pain is reported to training staff and the players training regime is altered accordingly. I’m not worried at all.

Exactly right, Brayshaw and AVB got through the main session without a hiccup and Keilty and Maynard went the other way, both got a tweak on Wednesday last week, both back soon,  I asked

My wife wanted me to mow the lawn but I reported a slight pain in the lower left hand side of my right patella. At that point she adjusted my schedule for the day and I sat on the couch and watched the cricket. Good result all round.

I hope she mowed them after bringing you a beer.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
