New Major Sponsor - Jaguar CONFIRMED

Would there be much to negotiate?

Surely, a company would have X $ in its marketing or advertising budget, and that would be that. it just depends whether that is enough for a back of the jumper sponsor.

I would imagine it would depend on what Melbourne can offer in terms of brand exposure. It shouldn't be as simple as $X in marketing/advertising budget, but maybe you're right.

I would think if we have a new sponsor then we (and they) would want to wait to get the best bang for buck on the announcement.

Surely now is not the time.

I have no doubt we have this well in hand and as others have said we are now a hot property.

AGM is 17th. Dec!

Any news on this? Surely we're past the day's of heading into a season without a major sponsor.

I'm not sure why you think we don't have a major sponsor. I think the list as a whole is pretty strong.

That is 2018 list, don’t believe iSelect are men’s team sponsor for 2019.

Hadn't seen that confirmed but you may be correct.

In which case Pert still has plenty of time to make an announcement in 2019.

I would think to maximize the exposure for any new sponsor there are much better places in the news cycle.

There is a reason this is called a non ratings period.

Does anyone know when the iSelect deal runs out? This picture from the melbourne facebook page has the empty jumper numbers for next year without a back of jumper sponsor. New major sponsor coming?

I think that Infinity is a likely option. Given that their logo has disappeared from the 2019 polos to date, but were on the 2018 polo sleeves and also on the front (replacing IG until they extended their partnership recently) during the National Draft.

I think its nutting out the length and dollars, and waiting for a good media opportunity. Whether its Infiniti, i don't know. The Infiniti black and white colour scheme would look great on the back, replacing the orange block of ISelect.

Infinity should step up to be the BOJ sponsor?  Roy Morgan produce research each year about car sponsorship of AFL, as the automakers get good ROI from it.  Seems cheap for a car manufacturer to not be a major sponsor. If Infinity don’t want it then Pert has history signing sponsorships with car manufacturers.

Infinity is a poor selling brand. They are making very little head way in the Australian market. Nissan is trying to do the same as Toyota has done with Lexus. However the product is not a patch on the Lexus brand. Well Nissan don't seem to be able to sell the idea in Australia. Motoring writers are giving them ordinary reviews. High priced tarted up Nissans IMO. Don't be surprised if they disappear as a sponsor sooner rather than later.

Agreed. Infinity has not made an impact at all.

OD, I believe you if you say they’re selling poorly in Oz.

Have you driven one?  My girlfriend traded her Q40 for a new Q50.  I drove both a lot and they’re really nice, and selling very well here in Los Angeles

I was thinking why don’t we just look at Nissan but upon a quick search see that the Hawks have just done that.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin returned to the training track to bring you the following observations from Gosch's Paddock this morning. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
