The Chazz 4,077 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Nephew of Michael, plays for St Kilda, the MFC and Essendon are circling... http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-10-10/dons-circle-contracted-nephew-long-of-club-great Could he be part of the deal with Kent? 5 Quote
Bates Mate 4,520 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I have not been impressed with him , I have watched him 4-5 times and every time thought he looked below AFL standard. He might prove me wrong and come good but I am not that excited by the prospect of him joining us. Quote
GCDee 3,202 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I remember him playing pretty well against us in the game we won... apart from that I dont really watch saints games. Quote
IvanBartul13 2,564 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Super quick. If he can find a bit more composure, would be handy. More versatile than many think. Quote

Yes, I remembered he did quite well then. Also in the Saints draw against GWS (?), I think Edited October 10, 2018 by Moonshadow Quote

Neitz the Great 557 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I think he’d be a great get. Young and raw but he’s quick and has good skills and workrate and would be a huge upgrade on Garlett! 1 Quote

Not saying anything negative about Ben Long but that is a v v v big call - Whilst Jeff Garlett has had an underwhelming 2018 season he has an impressive record in the AFL having kicked over 300 goals 1 Quote

Demonland 74,443 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Just sent a text to a Saints mate and he said he'd be absolutely filthy if the Saints let him go. 1 1 Quote
DemonLad5 1,642 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Long is a gun. Would be a real handy pickup 1 Quote
Wiseblood 24,637 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 What I've seen of him hasn't impressed me much. Doesn't really get a whole lot of it, not real tough in the contest. It would be a bit of a head scratcher for me if we got him. Quote
Wiseblood 24,637 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Saints just put a tweet out saying he's going nowhere, so it might be a bit of a non-starter this one. 1 Quote

DeeSpencer 26,681 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Struggled in most of his early games but his game against the Giants was fantastic and he did some things against us as well. Has a bit of grunt in him as well as the Long/Rioli genes for pressure and tackling. He'd be a very good pick up but clearly the Saints know his quality. Express some interest now and try to get him to remain uncontracted until next years trade period. Quote
Deeman 1,551 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 John Alexander's electorate in Sydney? Quote

Moonshadow 17,678 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Meanwhile, the Bombers have Jake Long out of contract. It's all well and good to use the emotional pull of family to poach one Long, how about signing up the other one? Very inconsistent. Quote

We know Kent’s quality (and so do St Kilda) so a swap would not be to either Club’s detriment if Long is as good as they are trying to portray! Quote
