Rumour is we get Cerra !

I'd be very, very, very surprised if we got Cerra.  I just can't see it happening.  It'll be for picks, nothing more.

As if we get Cerra. You don’t get club’s best young players tossed in for good measure. Bell won’t spend two weeks strutting only to do that.

I know all that

but he is a contracted player, who can assist the Weid in becoming a better forward for a year.

I just get the feeling the Weid is still a touch green

Just my feelings...

I see what you've done there...

There have been no late whispers about a player being involved. You would have expected some leaks about this by now with so many people in the room.

As an aside, unbelievable trade period for Fremantle.

Aside from some minor swaps in the late pick they have done:

Out: Pick 6 and Neale

In: Hogan, Lobb, Picks 14 and 30

They also picked up Conca as a free agent.

I don’t think so sue. Cripps is from WA and there’s never been any noise about a return there. Simon Black from WA had a long and fruitful career in Brisbane. The AFL is littered with interstate players who settle in. Furthermore I believe this has been as much driven by the MFC as it was Hogan driven.

I'm not saying it will stop club's recruiting from WA, just make them very cautious, especially if the player is very young.  As for it being driven by MFC, surely that was only because we knew he would either go home now or next year.

Whether he goes or stays, I expect this will put a dampner on Vic clubs recruiting young blokes from WA.

Agreed.

I'm glad our current and potentially future elite players in Gawn, T Mac, Oliver, Brayshaw , Harmes, Petracca, Salem and Weideman are VIC blokes.

If all of these deals get done in the next few hours what are they going to do on the live telecast tonight. Fox and AFL should get everyone to slow down.

Yes and Opposition Teams will target him hard now on the ground. A year of transition with Hogan would have been an interesting proposition

Maybe Omac could transition forward if May comes. Who knows? He could turn out like his brother.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses.
