Who ?

You know it's a good deal when the usual posters are the ones melting down, while the rest see this deal for what it is.  Always comforting.

I'm not happy with the trade Wise, but not melting either. I was all for him going in the end if he didn't want to be at the club, but also think 6 & 23 is unders considering Mahoneys statements before the trade period. Anyway, time to move on, looking forward to May & KK wearing the red & blue

So T Mac goes down with an injury.  Who are our key forwards then? The Weid?  Yeah that will win a premiership!

For decades we have cried out for a power forward unit.....we get close and then we trade 'em.

Good one Dees!

mate, he did not want to play for us and would have been gone in 12 months.

they had no choice but to trade him out

This a such a [censored] argument, all teams have players who if got injured they’d be cooked without, even premiership ones..

No, they're disappointed about 'pick value' that we're getting back.

Nothing else.

Well I'm not so you can't say that about everyone.  I think there are a lot just disappointed to see him go.

Anyway enough.

Lets just move on from this saga.

Adios Jesse.

The simple truth.

Shlt happens.

And we move on

Go Dees

You're our bunnies Freo ;)

People were crapping themselves about Melksham...and still going on about Lever. No doubt we'll be hearing about Hogan and May for the next 2 years also. Meantime the dees are going to give the 2019 flag a real shot. For mine our football club is in very good hands.

My understanding of negotiation in any business is that you start off asking for more than you're likely to get. And everybody involved in the deal knows it. I would hardly expect Mahoney to ask for something and then be given more than he wanted. I can't understand why people seem surprised or disappointed that we didn't get what was surely an initial ambit claim.

Mahoney bent over her again. He has no balls.

So u think losing Hogan and pick 65 for May, KK and pick 23 is a bad deal?

There is a lot on here of Jessie's shortcomings.  Many on here happy to pot him on his way out.

I loved watching him play and he was an important part of our team while it was being rebuilt.  He was our only key forward for a few years (Clarke and Dawes always injured).

He deserves recognition for sticking around when he could have left and spent more time with his dad.

Thanks Jessie for sticking with us during our tough times.  All the best at Freo.  Hope going home brings you the happiness you are seeking.

Without doubt.Could have moved him on as well with a package to freo.

I couldn't give a navicular. Freo gave up a lot to get H. = Neale out. Onwards and upwards the two sharpshooters, Weidemann and McDonald and into a big season for us. The real losers are Gold Coast, and their parent club, the AFL. GC needs to be merged with Brissie forthwith, and GWS merged with Sydney to become The Greater Sydney Somethings.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
