Farewell Jesse Hogan

Melbourne have asked Hogan to either leave now or re-sign with us for a longer period.

His manager is telling him to hold out for a better deal next year.

Hogan is torn.

Why would manager think Freo will offer more next year if Jesse turns them down now?  Betting on WCE coming into the game, perhaps.  High risk stakes if that is the case.

And how much more does Jesse (or manager) want.  If the kid wants to go home, let him.  Why put him thru another year of angst and speculation.  The extra $$ (after tax/manager fee) for Jesse, surely can't be be worth that.

If Jesse turns Freo down for $$ he may never get back to Perth.

Let’s be clear. Jesse didn’t do a medical test while at dockers HQ because he’s still not allowed to run. He may have had additional scans done. But I think this is all BS

You do realise you can do medical exeminations without the running? All they would need is a copy of medical report on his foot from the specialist he saw down here.

Even if hes foot was fine, some medicals don't require running.

He's definitely done a medical at Freo.

LH , I suspect this is Melbourne forcing the hand of others...i.e create an unattractive course if remaining with Melbourne. You stay ...it's on our terms. If going...stop fn around...and manager .. go f yourself.

A crude summary but gut says this is the way we're going.

I think we will never be held to ransom again.

Go Dees

Go Dees

That may be mfc position but they can't force him to go and he stays another year as unpalatable as that may be.

It is the manager's advice I was commenting on.  Selling the kid short telling him to wait for a better deal next year.  Get the best deal he can now.  A deal can't be that much better next year.

Let's be clear. It is certainly possible for the Dockers to give Hogan a medical examination without him running.

Surely in this instance a medical would have to come from an independent 3rd party and not from the buyers doctor.

I couldn’t see any reason why the Fremantle doctor would cast doubt on Jesse’s injury that would tip the balance of the trade in Fremantle’s favour. ???

Yes am aware. Hence the reference to his management.

I just think Dees are trying to wrest back as much of this into their control as possible.

As was mentioned somewhere by someone in media ( apologies as just couldn't give a fig to read the byline ) ...that players have TOO much power.

They're entitled to say...but it's about a team.

It does not seem that the world and its advice is setting Jesse Hogan up for the better outcome in his playing days and in its future. In that process, that appears quite debilitating, there is an undertone suspicion that he is being exploited against his best interests.

not sure why everyone is talking about brayshaw? Cerra looks double the player. Some people look at his surname and live in fantasy world.

Pick 2 in a reasonable draft and had equal numbers with Cerra. What's not to like

From what I've heard, the deal is still on. Until it's officially off from the club I'll assume it's still on. I think the failed medical is BS and Freo have been spreading rumours (not just that).

From what you've heard?

What, reading the countless pages of nonsense on this thread?

The way some posters talk about this fiasco acting like they 'know' something is brilliant.

Actually if you must know, an ex player of Fremantle who is a stock broker of mine. He's obviously not connected to the club anymore but seems he'd have more idea than all on this thread bar Chook I.P.

No need to be condescending and assume [censored].

Fair enough, but how about stating your source and what level of credibility you give them when posting.  I'm sick of posts which make some bold assertion without giving me any background to enable me to judge its reliability.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention.
