Rodney (Balls) Grinter 11,064 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 The Richo and Cooney thing cracked me up. When asked how he felt about Cooney getting booed when he received votes - Richo: "I didn't notice, I was just happy getting all the adulation", lol. Quote
dieter 3,325 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 So we want to believe the dlickheads called unpires who can't even interpret most rules correctly are the be all and end all judges of who wins a football match. Hence, Grundy AWOL, Gawn AWOL, Oliver AWOL. I wrest my cases. 2 Quote
Go the Biff 3,474 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Isaac Heeney got Mark of the Year. Disappointing he didn't thank Pedo in his acceptance speech. That hospital pass onto Hogan's head was perfection 1 1 Quote
trout 385 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 If the count continues this way it’s going to be very interesting listening and reading the media tomorrow. Both Gawn and Grundy had amazing years and both deserve to be near the top. 3 Quote
SaberFang 7,151 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Complete farce. Only one player in the top 10 that isn't a midfielder and it's bloody Franklin! Becoming incredibly clear the umpires aren't fit to award points for this award any more. There needs to be a better way, either with coaches or an esteemed voting panel that can adequately adjudicate these things without the midfielder bias. 4 Quote

Jibroni 5,057 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Maybe next year Demonland should do its own 3 2 and 1votes and send it to AFL. 3 Quote

Keep the coaches votes secret, find a popular ex coach to name it after (not Sheedy), hype it up in the media and let it take over from the Brownlow. 2 Quote
leucopogon 1,519 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Agree, this award is a farce, hate everything about it 2 Quote
chook fowler 19,772 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Can’t stomach this broadcast any more. I’m gorne. Quote
Moonshadow 17,678 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Might be the only one, but I'm happy for the umpires to be clueless about who played well in any particular game. They are there only to adjudicate the game and are too often clueless about that. I wish they went back to the days when umpires weren't 'personalities' and they stayed completely out of the limelight (I'm talking to you Razer). The sooner Brownlow voting is taken away from them, the better. 6 Quote
At the break of Gawn 4,513 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 How did Gawn get no votes against the Saints just then? Absolutely bizarre. Quote

layzie 34,528 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Worst Brownlow for years. Boring as BS. Quote
SaberFang 7,151 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Music acts, endless padding, Broooooce's cringe worthy interviews with drunk players, and it's 10.30 and they're still reading out votes. This is the Brownlow under the auspices of the clueless morons at Channel 7 who think people will stomach bloated [censored] like this. Talk about being force-fed cow manure by a broadcaster who are happy to treat their audience like morons. 1 1 Quote
Rodney (Balls) Grinter 11,064 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 G Ablett Jnr has certainly been worthy in the past, but recon he got a heap of cheap votes this year. 1 Quote

The bias towards "champions" is so blatant. His season was barely above average. Well and truly past it but racks up votes because of his surname. 2 Quote
