Maybe Casey just want Fritta back to win them the flag on Sunday only for him to come in next week against the Tiges and Fritta can win two flags in the one year.

a la Ben Beames 2000. Missed by that much.

Nothing major is really lost. Fritsch hasn't exactly been amazing and probably quilty of blazing away last two games. If this allows Hibbo to be the intercept mark then that's okay.

The last few games before injury Joel Smith was showing some really good intercept marking across half back. I really hope he rediscovers that on the weekend.

This is also a chance to free up Hibberd in a way who had his hand full last week with the taller Jack Gunston.

Opportunity for hibbo to now play on the smaller LeCras instead of Vardy now.

All news sources jumping on the original story which was based on rumour! I love how the media can create a stroy without base...

Reminds me if George Negus and Thatcher - "People say...." met with response "Who are these people? What are their names?..."

We've lost one of our best kicks.

In a game that will be hot on a fast track, who would you prefer kicking the ball into the forward line, Fritsch or Tyson?

Nailed it.

On my short walk around the block just then I couldn't stop thinking about this. It doesn't gel with me at all. It would be devastating to lose this at the selection table.

I think Smith could be good in time but he's a liability for this game with 3 dangerous small forwards. Fritsch has not been great the last two games I admit that. He offers something that few others in the team have though, hard to describe it but it's the ability to use it consistently.

If Smith has to come in as an extra tall then it has to be Tyson out for me. He looks back to his old 'lost on the outside mid' self. Fritsch back to the wing and Smith back.

Agree-Fritsch's disposal always seems calm, I really rate how composed he is and i think there are synergies with team mates because of that. But not in the FD so what do i know. I think it would be mighty tough call, I think he has done his job better than Smith can and he'd be a bit sad at getting dropped.

Nah, he takes ones of Rioli or Ryan.

Trust the FD guys

we’re in a prelim for a reason. They know more than us

Reducing their clearance numbers will go a long way to helping us win. They only turned things around against the pies when they started to win more contested ball. They were in trouble when the pies were on top in that area.

So it is a Yeo from me!

I was at that game the Pies were dominating them through the middle but with Pendlebury recovering from a virus and Treloar in his first game back after 10weeks out they just ran out of legs. To add further salt to the wound Adams copped a hit to the head and was forced from the ground.

Not a chance he goes to Rioli or Ryan. Always does well against the indigenous small/medium forwards and anyone he plays on for that matter

“How do you feel about being dropped Dom?”

I would be against it as we need the depth in midfield to compete with West Coke.

What about the small timber? Ryan, Lecras and Rioli?

Jetta and Hibbo.  Smith can play small with his speed also

its died down. so no update.

I worry that Smith is more injury prone. I much prefer a settled side.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
