Roaming Brian - Melbourne vs Hawthorn, Semi Final

Worth putting up with BT to have this sort of access to the players/rooms after a finals win.    The vibe in there is electric.

Bonus points to Clayton Oliver for the pizz take of Brian.

I agree. I find it hard to listen to Brian. I'll admit he's helped create any interesting viewing point with Roaming Brian, but it's laced with self and afl promotion.

Our list is full of interesting and lovable players. It's really nice watching the joy and affection shared by family members, close friends, staff and players.

Oskar Baker was sitting there next to Clarry, with a great opportunity to be interviewed. Bt looked at him, realized he didn't know who it was and then went looking for someone that he recognized.

If BT is going to roam during the finals, he needs to know every player on every list.

Hey Dr.D , I just like to let you know this kid called Oskar Baker can play and is highly regarded. This is the kind of kid that we are going after to make our club better. You will see much of him next season. I will keep you informed.

I don't he has they necessary skills in engagement to interview people well when their too far from the know players. His manners are forward, crude and assuming.

By the way, the full segment was like 15 minutes including a great interview with the very fired up mum and dad of the McDonald brothers.

If someone has the full segment please post, not sure why the uploader only posted 8 minutes of it.

Just finished watching BT’s segment. Where was Hogan? Anyone see him in the rooms?  Every somebody and nobody connected with the club was there. He has kind of disappeared lately like he must be doing a stint in a remote lamasery in the Himalayas.

He would have been somewhere in the rooms, He and Lever got some air time in the coaches box during the match

Sat in the coaches box next to Lever.

Was in the rooms after the win and Tom went over to his mum and dad, he let his mum give him a kiss but shrugged off his dad when he tried to give him a hug, priceless

I love my footy on TV but roaming Brian is easily the most cringe-worthy, embarrassing, superficial non event I have ever seen. I simply loathe it. I actually like his commentary (and I know I am in the minority) but his roaming stuff is just an opportunity for the commentary team to have a self indulgent giggle full of in-jokes which no one else enjoys.

I am very grateful for the mute button.

And his interruption of other radio and TV interviewers is just plain rude.

Never thought I would ever read that.

Brain Taylors commentary is the worst on any AFL media at the moment.

"cant believe it"

"cant believe it"

"cant believe it"

"can not believe it"

Are you fugn kidding me? He is an embarrassment to the game. I hope none of his deplorable commentary is seen by internationals. It's as bad as the AFL entertainment extravaganzas of old.

One interesting moment was seeing Jetta's tall dad and wondering why Nev is so small.  Then the camera turned to his mum and all was explained.

There is nothing on this earth that is worth putting up with BT.

I actually enjoy Roaming Brian as it is a lighthearted look behind the scenes.

Rather watch that, than the pontificating that goes on with some of the footy panels.

He and Lever were both in the coaches box during the game.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
