Are the Dees September 2018 better than the Tiges and Bulldogs circa 2017 and 2016?

In my view they are, as Champion Data has been saying all year, playing a superior brand of football. Their best l have no doubt is surpases all comers, the question we all have is can they deliver on the day?

I have been madly following this football club for 50 years, and for the first time in my living memory before a big game l have an innerving calmness about the result here. Gone are the nightmares they will fall into a hole. Their brilliance is just so good, that somehow or other you feel they will get it done. It is wonderful...

Go you mighty Dees!

Better overall team than the Bulldogs ... yes... but they had a glorious month... we may not.

Richmond...last year... probably a bit below... Their last 5-6 weeks of the home and away season was seriously impressive which mean they finished top 4... we did not. On the other hand Richmond are probably above us by around the same margin that Adelaide were better than Richmond last year.

Who knows what the next three weeks will bring. I am expecting a win tonight but after that ?????

You'll get your answer in 3 weeks at the latest or tonight at the earliest.

Let's all settle down a bit. All things considered, we are still a club that has made one set of finals in 12 years and has won an elimination final.

This talk of us being 'a power' or being better than the Tiges or Doggies can only be entertained if we win the flag.

If we don't then we are just one of 17 other teams who didn't salute.

Technically, at the end of today we might have won two finals.

Were the sides the doggies and the tigers faced better than the ones we might face?

The doggies last four victories to secure that flag were frankly outstanding. Tough opposition, interstate games. They fully deserved what they achieved

Simple, IF we beat the Hawks tonight and then beat  WCE in WA   Assuming Richmond make the GF, then we will test the theory.

Too soon to say, wouldn't you thing so?  Lets get through Hawthorn firstly and mostly.

Richmond and the Dogs had played finals the previous years before they won it.
I think we're about as good as they were the years before they won.
We still have too many who lack composure and have skill errors during the big games.
Like they did.
But anyhoo ...... Lets kill these forken Dawks.

The hype on Demonland this week is ridiculous. Even from normally rational posters.

We are miles better than Bullies or Tigers, I'll bear my rrrse in Bourke St if we don't win the next 4 flags!!!!

If we don't win tonight we're barely better than Geelong circa 2018

The whole 'fairytale' thing gives me the irrits. It makes it sound like it is rigged for us to win. I wouldn't complain if we do, but I just find it annoying.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
