Maybe if we win a simple "Go Dees" will be in order

Will do!

Cheeky 6 pack at work just before knock off then straight to the bottle shop and picked up a bottle of whiskey.

TIME TO GET FERAL.

So I'm starting to pace. Nervous and confident at the same time. I hate those bastards. I'd be happy just ending their dream even if we don't get any further.

I was there last week! If we make it through to the granny I'll be back down.

What does he drive?

Bottle of Jameson’s mysteriously disappearing?

Can’t get to the G tonight so do some screaming for me

Want to see us hang the Hawkes on the fence in the back paddock.

Go Dees?

an hour to go to the bounce. Sitting on the other side of the world on a morning that is a perfect reflection of the day in Melbourne. Mid to high teens and sunny. Wish I was there rather than here.

Will watch the build up and then the game live on my 27" monitor. Not really a substitute for being there.

Go Dees. Confident we have the game to win it. We just need to bring it on the night.

I’m stuck in Perth so won’t be there either. I went the Tullamore Dew.

So, while there's been chatter about how and whether we'll win, I've been out getting things done.

I ordered the same (not the EXACT same, sure) slices of pizza (three cheese, Margherita), and asked my wife to do the same (three cheese, Hawaiian, I know, no judgement please haha), from the same place, and was served by the same guy as last week. Mind you, as it turns out, the guy is a Dees supporter!

Now I'm walking the same route, to enter the G from the same Gate.

We've got this!

I'm also sick of everyone at work today saying how Melbourne should thrash Hawthorn because they have 2 of their best 22 out. Anything less is a failure apparently.

Ditto because so do we.

Yeap, Imperial has cheap pints too. Now we’re heading to the rooftop at the Corner.

Happy hour provides $6.50 PINTS of Guinness, living in the country has its advantages

At the G now. Anticipation building. Lets do this Melbourne.

I agree. Surprised to see so much red and blue about. Easily accounts for that other mob. ??

Dominated the crowd numbers last week against Geelong, as well. It's been two decades, I'd reckon, since there were so many red 'n blue people in one place! Have a great night, McQ. A really great night. McAvaney from Ch 7 just tipped the Dees to win the flag - nice person to have onboard for the finals series.

50 mins till launch ladies and gents.

Seems a lot busier than last week.

Will be lot of West Coast supporters watching tonight, and they will all be cheering for both teams to beat the hell out of each other.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
