Hawks must be taking on his last years salary.

Yeah nah . Didnt he lie to Big Jim ?

pass .

Pass him by - not up to our standards.

Actually wouldn't be mad. I mean, don't get me wrong, not pushing for it to happen at all but there's certainly a role for him on the wing.

The price that the hawks are rumored to get him at too...

he won't be going for a pay cut but his $1M a year deal ran out a few years back. I would expect he's somewhere round the 500-600K mark. Not much more than we would have been paying Tyson.

Just cannot believe the lack of interest in him generally.

Hawks have offered a 4 year deal which seems reasonable and he's passed a medical.

They go to the Hawks because they are a succesful club with facilities rather than a public park for a training oval

you been to waverly lately?

The real question is, do we have enough room in the cap to employ his father as well..?

that's years off. what's your point?

and if waverley is so good (as implied by op) why dingley?

i can't see hwfua touring dingley any time soon - lol

The thought of $cully back in red & blue makes me spew in my mouth a little bit.

BUT, if the going rate is a 40+ pick, and hes not Hawthorn or nothing, then I'd hope we are at least having a look.

I think...

you think that might be Tommy's tipping point ??

I'd be delighted if he came back and played on a wing. He would be massive step from Tyson, Jones and JFK who are as slow as slugs.

Who cares what happened in 2011. Build a bridge and get over it.

I believe JFK took a slug which made him slow.

It would be highly doubtful he will get up for next season considering the scope of his injury. Very few have come back from that.

If that does, do big Max proud and direct it at some unsuspecting punter.

The tought of Hawthorn picking him up for as low as pick 53 is making me spew.  Kane Corns and Tim Watson are also suggesting that the AFL shold get involved and investigate/ interven should he go for that little.  Fat chance of that happening, the AFL do nothing in these situations, just look at Luke Ball - Collingwood and Chris Judd to Carlton.

Still it suprises me that the likes of St Kilda, Carlton, North and the Doggies are not into Scully and surely those players would have better trade material than pick 53 to offer GWS in return.

Equalisation is completely broken if there was ever such a thing in the first place.

Agree it's a bargain but remember that GWS are agreeing to it. While Scully is not entitled to say I will only go to Hawthorn he is entitled to reject being traded to a named club. Same as what Hogan has done to us with Freo.

Obviously the Giants modelled their salary cap on a flag in 2017 and 2018. Understandable if you think about it. Now they have to do something drastic.

Heard on the radio yesterday that Collingwood might be a chance for Patton. If so makes the decision to trade Lobb even more puzzling.

So were Burgoyne's knees....  ?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
