Well done Big Max

Now bring on the real stuff

Most prestigious individual award in footy in my opinion. No one knows better about who influences the game more than the coaches. Congrats Max well deserved

The best player in the comp...without a doubt!

Oliver right up there too.

I’m really starting to believe and it feels scary!

It does feel scary.

I’m not actually sure what it is I’m feeling, part excitement , part hope, part fear of losing in our first final, but I do believe in this team.

Just announced on AFL360!

Well done to the people’s beard!

Did the rewind on Foxtel app to see the presentation of the award. Well done Maxy!

Had to switch off half way through. Couldn't stand listening to Robbo spend 3 times as long asking questions as they take to answer. Loves the sound of his own voice! ?

Absolutely deserved. Been a long time since I shook my head at how good ruckman is... I do it multiple times a quarter watching Max.

Incredible effort and thoroughly well deserved.  Would have to be the most accurate of all the individual award for measuring a players impact on a match or season.

Well done Max thoroughly deserved and reward for daring to want to be the number 1 ruckman in the comp. Congrats to Oliver and Brayshaw. Worth noting Harmes results getting votes in 3 of the lat 4 games. The midfield is looking more and more  A grade.

He is a f kwit. Gawny he just said how he had made it through the season without injury and Robbo asked a question about his injuries this year...

Haha, missed that...

Too busy indulging in his own ego to listen to interviewee!

He literally switches off listening and looks down at his notes but you can see he is thinking about something else. How he has these gigs is beyond me. Stuie could do a better job.

Great achievement! It’s very clear that this award is up there in terms of clout. Onya Maxy!

He just asked Alan Richardson if he watched the Dees game yesterday... the guy who was coaching at the same time... ffs

I have been away for months

i had forgotten about Slobbo, i thought he might have gone. But no.

How do such crap doorknobs get serious jobs??

It’s sad

Thats a serious award to win. Now for Charlie. Im starting to believe also....

Watching the interview now. Great to hear about his influences and the people who helped him become a better palmer down of the ball. Cited Jamar and current ruck coach Greg Stafford who was a decent tap ruckman in his own right.

"It's an honour to win the award... Goody gave me a call and let me know he won it in 2006."

I do like that comment.

But well done to Maxy. You forget he had to go through the 2 knee recos. Credit to him to get himself fit and roosy well done on getting him into shape.

Just love watching this man play

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
