I wouldn't be casting too many stones on this one 'brendan'...

It's a problem in all clubs from what I hear, big problem.

From an article in 2002...

You would have to be mad to think it has improved...

"Things go Better", seems to be the choice these days.

Young men, risk takers, time and money...plenty of hangers on.

Third Collingwood player in a few years.

Crisis.

Clearly the club needs total disqualification, meaning that MFC, should they win on Sunday, would finish fourth ??

But seriously looking forward to McChinny spin on this.

Morning Eddie ;)

Prime Minister coup or Collingwood drug scandal? Herald Sun absolutely stumped for today's front page.

Pity the AFL were not so diligent back when cousins was in his early career!

The panel on SEN this morning raised an interesting discussion.

Should a team be stripped of the 4 points had the team won if the player tested positive on that particular game day?

In horse racing a win is taken away when a horse returns a positive swab on the day, I understand it’s a totally different scenario and more an individual competition but, how many players would need to test positive on ‘ Game Day’ for points to be stripped?

Also, is positive testing on match day included in the 3 strike policy?

Just when the Pies are up and flying.....

Oh, they were. Didn't you see the way they went after Dale Lewis? Scorched earth!

Fortunately, this time it's ASADA on the job.

Yes  Lewis was the classic shoot the messenger.

Sadly that basket is overflowing nothing has gone in there in a long time they just lie on the floor till the cleaners arrive MR.

  1. Yes
  2. Game day illicit drug taking is treated as performance enhancing so different drug code

Peter Gordon on ABC:

Drug was banned on match day only... Defence may be that it was not taken within 24 hours of playing

Nice try Pete, but if it’s still in your system, it is still enhancing performance. When it was taken is irrelevant.

Imagine if one of his teammates also had tested pos and WADA came down hard on Collingwood for 2 pos players! AFL kick them out of the finals like Essendrug was. Melbourne beat GWS on Sunday and finish top 4!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
