Spargo playing maybe his 15th game. I think he has had a great first season, and while he wasn't brilliant today, he wasn't disgraced. Think you're being a little harsh.

A lot of Tyson's touches today were very effective.Ā  He played a very good game despite a couple of stereotypical Dom floaters.

The defence : Magnificent

Midfielders : Gave a lot

Forwards : Very good.

Weiderman : Best game ,provided marking/competitive option.

Lewis : Cool Head Luke

Jetta :Build a statue

Brayshaw : Leave your hat on. You are too essemtial to us .

Oliver : Best phonebox footballer ever ( Never ever thought I would quote BT)

I think you have been very kind this week Joe Boy. AsĀ you should

Ā LOVE YOU DEES!

CLARRY YOU STAR.

Captain courageousĀ Jonesy.

All mighty Jetta.

Agree he has a crack and uses it well , will be a 100- 200 game player

Spargo was very ordinary and should not be in the side.

A lot of us said he needed the rest and JKH should have played instead.

They ran the ball out of our forward line without any pressure and that was his role and ANB's.

Spargo as I said before will be a good player for us.

As for ANB he is a game killer for us. His turnovers and fumbles are so momentum shifting.

I don't know about his grunt work I hardly saw him lay a tackle, or get close to an opponent, except when he had the ball and then turned it over.

Anyway well done guys you deserve your finals chance after a very good year.

Win next week and we get the chance to payĀ backĀ the Cats on the G.

He'll make way for Viney.

Proffer a replacement that will stand scrutiny or keep quiet and support the kid

JKH should never play a game again list clogger I'd take Spargo any day of the week over him. Spargo wasn't too bad.

Bugg would give us a lot more!

Your sizeism is tiring, Bugg was at Casey and poor, Spargo was in Perth

He was poor today plain and simple did not mater how tall he is. I said nothing about his height.

the simple fact is he did pull his wait.

First year player who is clearly showing the signs of having played too many games. Badly in need of a rest.

I thought all 22 did well.

Tyson was good, so I'll put that down to the usual tiresome sledging he cops.

Spargo wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. His spot could be up for grabs going into finals if the likes of Garlett really get going again, but I'm beginning to lose faith that could happen.

Will Viney be fit for the 1st Final?

Ā

Hogan - Was not missed

Petracca - Went missing late

Spargo - Not AFL standard (yet)

Melbourne - Speed achilles heel

Kent - Bad and good

Frost - Makes us better

West Coast - Few keys out

Weed - Break-out game

Salem - Rarely wastes it

Hibberd - Most important defender

TMac - Goody used wisely

Jetta/Clarry/TMAC/Gawn/BrayshawĀ - Need a paragraph

Tyson - Joe Boy Correct

Ā

Ā

I have never knocked Tyson for memory, but today he frustrated me a little.Ā  Running into traffic for a hand-ball receive.......is obviously slowĀ and takes on the tackler too much, yet has difficulty breaking a tackle.

I'm with Joeboy.Ā  Today's game was nothing to write home about for Dom.

Ā

BTW, I aint a Tyson-hater.

Ā

How the hell did Frost stay at Casey for most of the year, and why did we sell the farm for Lever?

I though spargo lost us the game last weekĀ against the Swans and almost this weekĀ through his inexperience. This can’t happen in finals. For me, Jesse Garret needs to come in for him.

He needs to get fitter, needs to streamline his body, more muscle, he’s an 18 year old kid and will be a good midfielderĀ in future

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more Ā consecutive defeats.Ā

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
