Nah don't worry we will win. No expectation we will win, mark it down in the book.

No special game to promote, no media street this week, mark it down as a win.

Any travel tips? Restaurant advise. Pre-match/aftermatch functions?

Visit the south west - lovely spot this time of year but a little cold so take a scarf.

Following in the legendary footsteps of explorers like Burke and Wills, Robert E. Peary and George Mallory.

George Mallory. Ah yes. Was in Homicide with Leonard Veale and Alvin Curtains....

TPF39 has my vote.

Perth is a nice place for a visit lots good attractions including the WAFL bound to be a good game on.

Speaking of Curtain, if my memory is correct it's the name of a WA university and an air-force base? Truscott (Bluey/BnF) was another. Sorry, sick of football

Enjoy the trip, I remember standing on the hill behind the goals at Subiaco in 1998, famous game we had to win against the odds and we did, started us on a run of great games into the finals, in fact best football I've seen Melbourne play.

Hopefully you have the same experience, the best thing is if the game is won by half way through the last the West Coast supporters will walk out to leave a few thousand Melbourne supporters to enjoy the victory.

Can I get a weather report from the locals for Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday? Will help if you are familiar with Melbourne weather at this time of year as a comparison. I just want to know what type of clothing I need to pack. Also need to know how cool it gets at night at this time of year.

Thanks in advance.

Looking as though the days are going to be low 20's with Sunday looking superb for footy. It cracked 24 degrees out my way in the Swan Valley yesterday but today it's poured rain.

The night temps starts to get to jacket wearing temp around 6pm and the mornings have been nippy around 5 - 10 degrees.

My tip is don't bother packing anything too bulky to keep warm in as it'll be overkill. A MFC beanie and scarf will be a necessity at the game and afterwards if we win.

Some knuckle dusters may come in handy.

I have one of those light weight jackets that keep me warm enough at the G on a cold day or night and not too hot even if the sun is shining as long as it's not too warm.

I will of course be bringing a scarf which can be concealed easily inside the jacket if things go south.

Looks like the Western Demons supporter group are heading to the Burswood on Swan. I’m heading to The Camfield pre-game which is about 100m from the stadium.

I shall also be at the Camfield pre game and for post game analysis.

And if we win, I will be sleeping in on Monday.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
