spargo is so overrated here

He is one player that has a red hot crack every time he is in which is more than you can say for others but he is just too small and limited which is a shame

And JKH hasn’t been as bad as some say. Can see some of Neville Jetta in him. Could be our next small defender.

I've got my annual Breaking Bad rewatch on one channel with the Dees on the other (muted of course). Far less stressful. Some kind of zen has come over me since last week, clearly.

We're playing poorly, so is Adelaide, but we're worse. Adelaide is seriously average, and if we lose this, so are we.

Oscar McDonald versus Jenkins is a comedic battle.

We can win this. Midfield must dominate more.

Nothing like Nev.

Not strong in the contest

Not strong over head

Literally [censored] himself if he has the ball and there is opposition within 5 meters

Cant kick

Only still in it because Adelaide are so ordinary. Any half decent tem would be 6-8 goals up already. I'm officially over Garlett, delist. Petracca is the ultimate built like Tarzan plays like Jane, not a footballers [censored]

Oscar is doing quite well considering Jenkins is a lot stronger.

Brayshaw, Oliver, ANB, TMac and Gawn are our top 5 players so far. Hard fought match, we are right in this.....fighting hard Dees. Good to see.

[censored] you Melbourne with your [censored] typical shot on goal on the siren.

[censored] your tackling. [censored] your softness. [censored] your defensive efforts. Argh!!!!

We’re not playing well but effort is there. Had we kicked straight we’d be in front so relax. A lot of nerves out there, ball is hot and slippery

So lucky.  We were so fumbly and rushed.  They dominated us in the first.  We should not still be in it, but we are. Maggots-my god they are one sided.  Gotta switch up at half time

We might get investigated for tanking playing JKH, Smith and Spargo.....

You mean the first year player doing more this year than many experienced players on our list?

Seriously NFI

Everyone is hanging it on our young blokes for making mistakes at least their having a go

what about the Witches Hat with a wig

Everyone's complaining about JKH, Garlett, Spargo, and Smith. I'm over here wondering when Jesse Hogan is going to show up.

Only 7 points down, come on Dees now is the game to guts out a [censored] n tough hard up against win.

Umpires setting a new standard for worst umpiring of the year.  Two first half goals to the Crows from marginal RUBBISH, Zero to us.  That deliberate out of bounds against Smith was a shocker, has been half a dozen worse sense from Adelaide that haven't been paid and in front of goal.  This stuff really makes me mad.

Hogan's trade value decreasing with each week.

I feel like we were on top for most of that quarter, Adelaide got gifted a couple of goals from the umps and we missed some very getable opportunities (JKH, Harmes, Garlett).

But certainly Max came into the game more, as did Brayshaw, Clarry, and Petracca (although he wasted it a couple of times).

We’re well and truly in it, but we’ve got to start taking our chances. Kicking goals is how you silence the crowd.

Are we 10 goals down and I am unaware? Any positives? It’s a tight tough game. We are having a crack. They look better structured forward and moving the ball out of stoppage are cleaner than us. Well in it if we get cleaner and take our chances as they tire. If we are going to be critical Jones and Hogan need earn their pay in the second half. Both been poor.

Spud vs Spud makes for a fascinating contest.

With how our tackling is going, maybe it’s time to try Vanders. I can’t imagine he’d be worse than Tyson who is like a snail out there.

  • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.
