Well that has got me completly knitted. Wonder if Freo can cause an upset as well.

The swans are by no means impregnable. There is tremendous significance in this result. Can the Titan called the Sydney swans be about to topple ?? It's about blddy time.

Makes our loss to St Kilda look better. Yes I know that's a difficult task, but at least we tried hard at the end of the last Q.

That should be the default answer when people ask 'how did we lose to St Kilda?'

How did RIchmond lose to St Kilda by 11 goals at the end of last season then win a  flag 8 weeks later?   Footy is indeed strange.

What the actual? Gold Coast? At least now we aren’t the only team to fluff it against cellar dwellers.

Take it MFC TAKE IT! They’re sitting there waiting to give you their money!

Dew would have very good knowledge of how to pick apart the Swan's game strategies, that would have been a factor.  But its still a win in the record book.

Sydney are 7-1 on the road and 3/5 at home, so you might want to temper expectations of a win just yet. I blame Gill for not scheduling the game at the SCG.

Try landing at Lukla ;)

Worst flight I ever had was to Lukla...

All others cancelled after ours, lucky me.

Felt like Dennis' 'Cork in the ocean'.

Freo might make it two upsets in a row here and effectively end Essendrugs season.  Wouldn't that be something.

I just youtubed Lukla.

Wild!! Although my problem last night was the weather before we hit the runway!! :)

Carn Freo! Enjoyable watch the bombers struggle to win this against kids.

The commentators still trot out the line:

the bombers are a top 4 team when playing well.

Wtf does that mean? They are 12th!

Yep, mine was a while back now but a harrowing flight that I will never forget.

The plane was being thrown around from one cliff face to another, a sherpa woman was screaming at the top of her lungs, one of the monks was laughing in stitches and I was white knuckle holding onto my seat. Know idea what that would do if the plane smashed into one of the mountains but hey that's what you do.

Anyway, good to see GC knock over Sydney...lets hope we get the job done tonight and stay safe 'SWYL'...

edit: just checked the youtube vid..pretty certain it was a grass strip when I went there and at the end of the strip where you see that cliff face there was an old smashed up plane that miscalculated left there just as a reminder.

Haha. I can visualize all that. What were you in?

ATR 72 or a Jet?

Right. Well they are going to get thrown around. I would be screaming to, asking ladies for a kiss.

There was a Tiger Air plane that got hit by lightning just out of Melbourne i read. That can be very dangerous!!

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
