Could do with some time at Casey.    Might light a fire underneath him.... he seems to think it will all just happen for him and that hes a star already when hes been average all season.

Needs a wake up call and needs to stop cruising.

Over 80,000 at the MCG with a top two spot up for grabs. If you can't get up for that then there's a big problem.

After reading the Parma to handball king article about Clarry today, I was thinking the same thing as Dom is Good above.

Earn it before trying to spend it ‘Trac!

i'm so tired of being 6 months ahead of you mob. I was shot down on this board for saying that petracca needed to improve on his speed and his foot skills to become a good afl footballer. so frickin tired

I got shot down a while ago for calling him a plodder. Apparently he bursts from packs with explosive speed ?

Needs to care less about his sneaker collection and more about getting a kick.

He's too nice. Got a lot of the Jack Watts-basketball-bruise-free-non-contact about him. Just drifts around when he should be using his enormous frame and power to knock a few out of the way and lay some enormous tackles. Has to physically impose himself on the game.

Also his disposal is just horrendous and he always tries to kick the cover off the ball and hand pass it through his teammates rather than to them. Just has no 'touch' whatsoever. The centred ball to Hogan going 10m over his head a case in point.

Sadly De Goey (a few picks later than Petracca and Brayshaw) looks like being by far the best player out of that draft. I spose De Goey wouldn't have interviewed well enough for the Dees though.

Clearly a very talented footballer but looks a bit slow lately. The fact that he is always dangerous close to goals has probably kept him in the side longer than it would others. But now he is right on the cusp of being demoted.

I can think of a few worse players today (Jones had some absolute shockers). More game time and a bit of polishing and he will be elite. He is only 22 after all?

Despite being dangerous he struggles to kick goals. Always opts to pass it despite being in range due to his poor goal kicking accuracy

I love what Trac could bring and what he does in flashes but today I thought...

Sylvia.

At least Sylvia used to bust a game open every now and then.

Yup. He has a choice to make -   put in the work and become great, or be Sylvia 2.0

His first handful of games this year were actually really good. He was in the coach's votes most weeks, so in the best few players on the park.

But he has stagnated since. He still contributes a bit, but not enough, especially compared to what he is capable of.

And to add to that, I actually think he is better in the midfield. His best footy earlier in the year was in the guts. Much like De Goey today.

I thought he was building after a very nasty injury. Only missed a week but it was nasty. Flashes today where he looked like our best player but a lot of nothing.

Would have no issue sending him back to Casey if that's what the coaches think. He's one I'd put it to now that he has to impress with his actions between now and the next selection to show he's fair dinkum.

His perceived value in the competition is unprecedented. Would throw his name at trade time if he doesn’t improve to see what other clubs are open to offering. Right now we have a forward who doesn’t kick goals or a midfielder who doesn’t impact.

Not saying we should trade him but we should see what others are willing to pay

OK, let's just take a step back.

Has been average all year and wouldn't have a problem if he gets dropped.

Petracca's looked really slow, and I'm half-hoping he's been carrying an injury - a groin or a knee issue, maybe - otherwise I'm pretty worried.

I look at the way DeGoey played today and expect that kind of performance from Petracca..

Also needs to stop swooning at his mirror and start concentrating on his football. Too narcissistic for me.

I’ve being saying all year he’s in cruise mode, stuck in second gear and Sylvia 2.0. He needs to move out of home and stop feasting on mummy’s pasta and take a hard look at where he wants to be as a footballer. Over weight, poor disposal, slow and now at 50 games and hasn’t torn any game apart. He needs 5 weeks at Casey to see how far away he is from his so called “hall of fame player” he wants to be.

I thought he was dangerous in the first half. His tank is however average, needs to lose some weight and get fitter

Agree, really struggled with the pace of the game and any sustained run.

He should be dropped.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
