So who laughed at me in round 4 when I said we’d be 8-3! Giddy up. 9 day break and bye will be a good refresh and reset. Hopefully we snag the pies now.

However in the Bulldogs Premiership year they lost Murphy to that dreaded injury.

Good point.

Hopefully this talks a few people down from the ledge.

Plenty of examples of teams losing key players and going on to win the flag. Our coach played in a premiership after the star forward Modra went down.

Just watching the replay (2nd quarter) and my god Hogan is a beast. Has exceeded my lofty expectations. He must be an AA lock, racking up midfielder stats and averaging 3 goals a game. He seems to be playing with a freedom he hasn't had before, always seemed like he had a load on his shoulders. Now he's the player we knew he would become and he's proving to be one of the stars of the comp. His next 5 years will be fun to watch.

Jetta was superb today, love Lord Nev as the MFC podcast crowned him. My 5yo gave him a high five after the game too which made his day.

T mac 19 goals in 6 games...  3.2 per game.   Incredible...  if he didnt miss the first 5 weeks he would likely be leading the Coleman.

Just saw Hogan 2nd on the list for Coleman on 31 goals just 2 shy of the leader whoever that was...

Bontempelli.... Star, star, star!! We would have won by 80 points if it wasn’t for him.

Said it earlier but wow what a game from “steady as she goes” Neville Jetta!! Unreal.

T Mac and Hoges both averaging 3 goals a game. Unbelievable! They should both get above 50 this season

I was in amongst a mange of Dogs fans for the first half and they were upset with the umpiring. One boofhead behind me called the arm chop on Hogan a ' soft ' free. I told him it's a new rule. The replay of the blatant contact set him off even more.

I drifted around to a spot populated by a heap of sensible Dees fans in the second half. Much more pleasant.

'Mange' as a collective noun for Western Bulldog fans deserves more credit.

He came over to the fence near us and we yelled out, among other things, hey Ray....how about a pic....and to everyone's surprise he turned around and posed for a picture....the game was going on of course, albeit a stoppage, but still.......he really copped it.

That disgusting clown leading the Coleman owes a good 15 of his goals to the umpires. He gets more dodgy frees than any forward in the comp. He and his repulsive club can go and get stuffed. If Hogan got the same armchair ride as Sideshow Bob he’d be on 70 goals now.

Great win Dees. I love the consistency we are at last showing. I thought a really good all round performance.

One question....I am trying to work out why with Max dominating the ruck, why we were very clearly beaten in the clearances. This has been  one of our strengths this year, along with contested possession, where we have been almost off the charts. Doesn’t seem to add up. More importantly, what should we do over the next 9 days to make sure it doesn’t happen Monday week where we will be up against a much better ruckman.

Abit harsh on Sideshow Bob.
Reckon he's pretty inoffensive myself.
Won them a final a couple years ago with his strong marking and arrow straight kicking.

Massive sook and a diver. Good player for sure. Plays for the most offensive club in the land. Hatred is real.

Now see ... Hogan has shown far more sookery than Brown.

And I think you need to reassess your list of offensive clubs.
How you have NM above Essendon, Collingwood and Carlton baffles me.

I think some here are underestimating how hard it will be to replace Lever

It's not gonna be easy but it's no use freaking out and going all emo until we actually see how the team can respond. Like others have mentioned if we can't win because of one player then we're in trouble. We still have a stellar midfield, Hogan/TMac and Hibberd and Jetta intercepting play down back.

It will be interesting to see who they go with though, the Pies have a deceptively tall forward line. I thought De Goey was a small forward but he's listed at 191cm! Stephenson, Cox, WHE none of them are really small.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
